My one year old really likes taking the shapes out of this little puzzle box. He doesn’t yet try to put them back in, that’s why I took off a star. He also really likes to shake it it with the shape blocks inside. I like that the shape blocks can be stored inside the large puzzle cube to keep all the pieces together. I got this for a 7 month old for Christmas and they love it. I chose this because it's a basic toy that helps babies learn foundational concepts. One of baby's parents has a background in early childhood development. I knew they would appreciate a gift that allows the baby to learn on their own, rather than a toy with lights and sounds. Baby played with it right away, the soft blocks are easy to fit and grip in their little hand. The textures on the blocks are interesting to chew on. The elastic on the box is fun to experiment with, there are varying levels of complexity depending on how many rows of elastic is on the side. I gave this toy to my daughter for her 1st birthday. It didn't take her long to figure out how to take things in and out. It challenges her mind, it's almost a puzzle to her and figuring out how things work is already a favorite activity. She absolutely loves this toy! Now, you never know what you're going to find inside... That missing binkie? Her favorite teether? An unopened applesauce pouch? The TV remote? Yupp, you'll find it in this cube! We've only been playing with this toy for a couple weeks now but it seems quite durable. The bright elastic bands have the perfect amount of stretch to them. The colored shapes are bright and interesting. They're made of a hard plastic with different textures with almost a matte finish to them. I will probably buy this as a gift to other kids in the future. 10/10 definitely recommend! ... show more
