This thing is Awesome!! Super easy to use and it makes the nicest, cleanest and most secure crimps. I used this crimper to make all the connections for the wiring for a car audio install. And the fact you can change out the plates makes this thing so versatile and saves you from having to buy special crimping tools you might only need a few times now and again. Seriously love this thing. Worth the money for sure. You get perfect crimps every time. If you are debating on spending the money I’d say buy it. It seems to be of great quality and should last the average user a lifetime. Make sure to buy quality crimps, this tool is only as good as the crimps you buy. One of the few crimpers I've used that functionally crimps insulated connectors. 22AWG holds well (larger diameter wires aren't a problem). Ferrules crimp in a "U" shape, which sticks well to the end of the wire, but can crush or deform oddly-so you need to pay attention to the pressure direction of the buss clamping mechanism used with those. Uninsulated and heat shrink crimps work well too. Pressure adjustment came well set-up. Experimenting, one 'click' lower makes a difference (doesn't work as well-can pull out). Die changes are easy, and the retaining screws are captive-only takes a few turns to loosen them enough to replace the die. Kit is made in China, pretty good quality overall. Nice deal for the kit vs a crimper and separate accessory dies. Crimping direction sometimes affects crimp quality, so pay attention to that. Which way, you say? Generally crimp to squish the solid part, not the split part. Your results may vary. Testing anything new is always a good idea. You do that (test things), don't you? ... show more

Klein Tools 3000CRKIT Ratchet Crimping Tool Set. It comes with 4 Interchangeable Dies for Heat Shrink, Non-Insulated, Insulated and Ferrule Terminal Connectors. The handle is comfortable and can be used for hours without hand fatigue. The dies are held down with screws, instead of being quick disconnect. This is an inconvenience for some, but I prefer it. I know that the die will be held securely, even if the tool is dropped accidentally. The tool is well built and is easy to use and works well. Klein tools have always been durable, and I hope this tool lives up to their reputation of quality and value for the coin. ... show more

Would be nice of the manufacturer was better about including more info on the product. I’m uploading a picture of the back of the box so others can see it. Why Kline chose not to include this in any of their official photos or website info is a poor decision in my opinion. When choosing to buy this product there is little information about which die does what, and it’s NOT included in the online PDF manual. The only clue to what die does what is the embossed guide in the case, and the back of the retail box, which will likely get tossed in the recycling bin. The dies have super small print for the model numbers, it would be nice if they color coded the dies to make selecting the correct set much easier. I’ll likely color coded them myself with some nail polish colors. Seems like a nicely made tool though! Feels solid and well made in the hands. ... show more

Really good quality. Consistent and snug crimps. I’m able to easily crimp one or both sides of the splice connectors easily. Plenty of dies to accommodate my needs.

    • Now my favorite crimper.
I have a bunch of crimpers and comparing this to my other crimpers this one is much higher quality. So i have a ton of different terminal ends, connectors and such. I tried this out on various brands and it did a great job in crimping. My test at the end of each crimp is to pull as hard as i can to try to pull the wire out. Using this crimper and the proper die i had solid results and was not able to pull the crimped end apart. The only thing i wish they would improve is having some directions on which die is used for which type of connector. The plastic container has very limited markings on it and it isn't very usefull. Mine did not come with any directions. The box lists just a little bit. I do like this set because to change the die, you only have to loosen the Phillips screw. Other crimpers i have you have to take out the whole screw and it is not as easy as this one is. The dies are made much more precise than other crimpers i have. So I will say the Klein 3000crkit is now my favorite crimper. The dies are made in such a way that they are an improved crimp over some of my cheaper crimpers dies. ... show more

Useful for a lot of electrical terminals. Extra jaws are must have for different applications. Makes solid crimps, comes in nice storage case. No drawbacks, just a little costly, but well worth it. That said you could probably get away with some cheaper ones just fine.
