    • Works but how long does foil last?

It works pretty well! My question is how long does the gold foil last on leather goods? I’m stamping my logo on purses, wallets, and it seems to rub off after awhile. I’ve tried just heat stamping it but really want that crisp gold stamp to STAY on my products and not rub off!!

Several decades ago I purchased a foil stamping machine that we used for years in our firm. I recently looked on Amazon and was directed to the Hot Foil Stamping Machine from FastToBuy. My original machine cost us in the range of $3,000. The FastToBuy machine was under $200 yet it is far superior. I needed a brass mold for a logo and that is where Sylvia came to my rescue. Even though she was half way around the world she was accessible by e-mail (albeit at night in AZ and +15 hours in China) and was fantastic in customer service. We had a project calling for a hot foil stamp on a round piece of .250 Komatex. We did not have a hot stamp machine. We took to Amazon.com to search for a machine that would do the job. We settled on this machine because it was of sufficient size and the price was very reasonable. When it arrived, it did not disappoint. It was packaged very well and super easy to set up. After setting the type and attaching the type tray to the heated platen we were off and running. Note: there is no type or type tray included so you will have to purchase that separately. It only take a few minutes for the platen to heat up and you can begin your test stamps. You will need to set the pressure by adjusting the height of the platen to your work piece and experiment with your heat setting. Once set, you can place some tape on the non heated base as alignment marks so you can accurately place your work piece for consistant registration. The base is also marked with a grid . All in all, we are very happy with the machine and it performed flawlessly in stamping 3,500 pieces for this job. And by the way, the customer loved the foil stamping. ... show more

I haven't figured out how to produce neat stamps with this machine. I thought maybe the thermometer is off but if you need to make very clean looking hot foil stamps (everyone does) this machine is not your best investment. Might be useful for paper but I wouldn't recommend it at all to be honest. Save yourself the money. ... show more
