We go through a lot of dehydrated vegetables for quick soup mixes, so I'm been wanting to do it myself. This dehydrator does a great job, but it's not as fast as the instructions state, and the instructions were clearly translated by computer vs. a person is my guess. One set of instructions for dehydrating vegetables said to boil them and then soak in lemonade. The guide also is in Celsius while the machine is in Fahrenheit, so you have to adjust for that. Expect to spend a lot of time unwrapping all of the plastic. There's so much plastic wrap, everywhere, even in the vents. The unit itself while others say is small is actually microwave size and took up a fair amount of room in my smaller kitchen. I tried dehydrating carrots and it took twice as long as was stated in the instructions. Easy fix, I'm ignoring the instructions in the future and following advice from online.

With myself being a welder and metal fabricator for 30+ years mostly in stainless steel shops i want to say nice stainless steel fabrication and it is too.There are no scratches,dings or anything wrong with the stainless outside cover and it fits nice all the way around. If customers only new how much work goes in to that piece of stainless steel before it ever gets put on the product you would really be surprised. The first thing i noticed right out of the box is the nice handles this food dehydrator by CozziVitta has on both sides and how lieght weight it is. It comes with six food racks and a bottom plate to protect the bottom of the dehdrator. Up till now i had only used one food dehydrator which some of you might remember it was made by Ronco back in the late 70's,it was all plastic and didn't work very good because it couldn't hold any heat I think mine is still in the box some were but i never planned on using it again anyway. I now see how far and advanced they have gotten but basically a food dehydrator is a simple machine as long as you have a little heat and a fan to move the heat you eventually get dried food. Right now i got some bannana slices going in it but i really look forward to trying a buch of different things. The cook book that comes with it just tells the basicsit doesn't tell you what brine to use or give you any brine recipies so even with the cook book you will still need to find different ways of doing things. I have a lot of experience using smokers but not dehydrators. Overall I think this is a well made, great looking food dehydrator with a digital screen but still simple enough that anybody can use it.The price is reasonable i know i couldn't make it for what it's selling for. Just go compare it to other ones on Amazon. The other ones that i seen that looked as nice as this one were going for about $100.00 more. If your reallyb thinking about getting one of these you might want to give this one by CozziVitta a good look over. I know i'm sure happy with it and i think a few others are too.
