Considering that alternatives to this hobbyist vise can easily cost twice as much (or more) this is an outstanding value. I purchased this to build an Artesania Latina, S.A. wooden ship model kit. The hull planking steps in particular required that the model be held solidly and securely at all manner of different orientations. The Fasmov table vise performed that vital function extremely well. It's done everything I've asked it to do and the fact that it cost less than $20 (at the time of this product review) makes it an outstanding value. This isn't a heavy duty bench vise; certainly nothing you'd want to use for significant woodworking. But it's no fragile toy either. Whenever I take a chance on a budget alternative, I'm always worried I'll end up with some poor imitation that isn't up to the task. For model building at least, this thing was rock solid. The castings aren't finish level quality, but they're by no means rough either. I cannot vouch for the quality of the metal itself. But there's enough of it in critical spots that I've seen or felt absolutely nothing to concern me about cracking or flexing when I crank down on the main jaws, the table clamping mechanism or the ball swivel mount. Everything locks down nice and tight. I'd have to think that anyone less than pleased with this product either has unrealistic expectations at this price point, or has attempted to use it for heavier duty tasks than it's designed for. I've made my fair share of mistakes spending too little on a tool that ultimately disappoints. Not so with the Fasmov Swivel 3" Universal Table Vise. It's a great addition to any model maker's workbench. Normally I don't give even those products that I like more than 4 out of 5 stars. Few products are perfect including this one (it includes soft plastic inserts on the jaws and the top of the table clamp, but not on the bottom of it, so it may mar the underside of your table/workbench). But considering what you're getting for less than $20, this vise is a terrific value.

Since I received it in April I've had this clamped to one of those collapsible folding tables you might take camping - said table is made of sturdy, thick plastic and metal, used solely in my crafting room. Nothing has been spilled on or near this clamp, and while it seems sturdy and has held up under the minor use its seen (holding small resin works still so I can drill jump ring holes) I took it off the table today to move it and found it's stained the surface underneath. Would caution others to maybe put something between the clamp and the surface you're clamping to, or else only clamp this to something you don't mind potentially being stained or "ruined." Luckily this is a work table that's not meant to remain pristine so not the biggest deal for me personally but it might be for others.

You get what you pay for, and this is a case of good value for the dollar, but the quality of the vise is from the lower end of the spectrum. The vise attaches to a table 2 inches thick and holds items 2 inches wide fairly well. The swivel ball is pretty stiff and allows you to move the item as needed when you have it at the right resistance - making it easy to get it in a better position for soldering in a new spot for example. The rubber foot works well for the top side of the table to prevent scuffing, and keeps it sturdy without having to really clamp it down hard. The under side is steel, so that end might dig in. The jaws have rubber protectors and work well to prevent damage to the clamped item, and have a little give allowing you to not have to clamp down too hard which is nice. They may need replacement over time, so not sure how to get those when needed. Going to knock it a couple of stars (but for the price, not too worried about it) for fit and finish issues. The parts are coated in grey paint, and it's inconsistent across the parts. The molds or finishing process have numerous imperfections making it look like it's well worn in the shop, sort of used (see pics) - again, not a big deal, it is a vice. The jaw will fall on your toe if you open it all the way, there is no stop - when you go beyond the size it can hold, one side will detach. Hope all this helps.

Got this vise to hold knifes while hand polishing the handles. I understood when I purchased it that it was a small and light duty vise not intended to withstand heavy use or a lot of force. Well the first one that arrived only came with the base and was opened. Amazon replaced it with me needing to return the base. Understandable and expected. A new one was sent in good faith so the customer support is there. Once the replacement came I was shocked. The vice is garbage quality. The ball that pivots on the base is made of what appears to be lead and will not stay in the base. It has fallen out 3x and cost me hours of lost labor not to mention breaking my $20 handles for the 3rd time. So lesson learned. Buy once cry once. Spend the money and buy a quality vise that pivots the way you need it. If you’re intending to hold more than a popsicle stick or feather this is not the vise for your application. Note: Wear boots when in use because when the vise falls out of the base if it hits your foot it will make you wanna throw a hammer.

I don't have space for a large dedicated work table so this is a perfect size for a DIYer. The grip on the table is perfect for my uses and the portability is an added bonus. It's very easy to use and wish I found this earlier. This will make small projects around the house very easy.
