The bed is gorgeous and is so study. Love that there are 4 drawers and 4 cubby spots on the sides,has 2 cabnets that are like hidden compartments on the head board , makes for quick easy storage. The price was good for the quality of the bed frame. It is easy to assemble BUT it did take hours to put together bc there are a lot of pieces that go into this frame making it sturdy, so it's best to put it together on a weekend or when you have time to put into it. Performance is so good it is so sturdy and I have two teens you just jump and plop down on my bed and it has held up and doesn't make and noises when getting into and out of bed. The LEDs make for a good nightlight and just set a relaxing tone to the room when you just need to whine down for the day or just want to relax and read. Took us about 4 hours to get it together but that's a small thing to worry about for such a amazing bed.

Pros It looks good - the way I wanted it to. It feels sturdy. Has a light and an outlet with USB. Cons There are MANY. First - this comes in 2 boxes. That arrived on different days without notice in horrible condition (99lbs and 137lbs with ONE delivery guy who essentially let them fall off the truck and dragged them onto the porch). Boxes were ripped and essentially falling apart. The pieces are mixed between the boxes - not sorted in order. This was a VERY difficult build. My 17 year old, 19 year old, and 50 year old husband took nearly 6 hours to build. And they build a LOT of furniture between their siblings moving out and other furniture changes over the past few years and being lego aficionados. The directions were really crappy. THERE WAS A PIECE MISSING. Bottom of one of the drawers just not there. One of them went and cut one out of a piece of the previous bed we were replacing or I'd still be short a drawer waiting on it. The 'shelves' that drop open on the headboard? Not really functional - they fall open before the mattress was on so we used velcro to hold them shut. Put the mattress on - and realized they are no longer able to drop down for use. All mattresses anymore are 'deep' (try to buy sheets that aren't deep pocket) and this headboard doesn't support a mattress over 10" tall. It got 4 stars because after the headache and extra work, it does look the way I wanted - but it shouldn't have taken that much. If it wasn't for that and the sturdy, it would be a tough call on 2-3 stars.

The media could not be loaded. Took me two days to build as I had no help. Half the holes are not predrilled, so you have to apply so much pressure as you screw and they can go in crooked. My hands are bruised and I have a blood blister from the amount of force needed to just screw simple tiny screws in. The little black “Q” screws and “C” pieces strip like nobody's business and again, you have to apply a crap ton of pressure to get them in without the screwdriver skipping because the phillips head indent is stripping away like its made of clay instead of metal. The drawers are actual trash, they don’t sit right no matter what you do, the runners don’t fit together and they don’t close nicely. Good luck getting the “Y” pieces for the slats in with without a hammer because it’s literally just impossible. It’s sturdy enough for two people to sleep on but I’ll have to be gentle with the shelves and drawers since it’s all the cheapest particle board ever, VERY easy to scratch. It’s not creaky or loud as far as I can tell. I like the height. The shelves are fine, but again, cheap particle board so I wouldn’t risk keeping liquid or beverages on it, since I’m sure itll bubble. If I knew what the building process would be like, I would NEVER have bought this bed. There are so many ways I can think of off the top of my head that this construction could’ve been streamlined and made easier. I couldn’t possibly muster up the energy to disassemble, somehow box up and ship back for a refund though, so as much as I’d like my money back I’ll just put junk I don’t ever use in the drawers, leave this awful review and deal with my poor decision.

This piece is certainly beautiful and provides extra storage that we really appreciate in a bedroom that's a bit small for a king sized bed. It feels sturdy. It's extraordinary heavy, roughly 250# between the two boxes. I would encourage you to keep the directions because if you need to move one day it will be tricky to figure out how to remove the headboard from the body of the bed frame. The real questions you have, "Was it hard to put together?" and "How long will it take?". I am not gifted at reading schematic directions. I enlisted the help of a friend who is a master Lego builder. She knows what she's looking at and has a real knack for it. Together we worked diligently for 5 hours, no breaks. She had to go home. It took me another 4 hours alone. So 9 hours total. It was a lot, but it was pretty straightforward. Left to my own devices there were only two directions I couldn't interpret by studying the design and I really think that was a "me problem". I gauge furniture assembly by how many times I cuss the intensity of my language choice. I only cussed a couple times and nothing truly colorful ;)

I was hesitant about buying a bed from Amazon and one that was not complete wood, but this is a very sturdy set. I am very happy with it and I put it together myself. it took me a whole entire day but it was fun. I love all the places for storage However, my LED light has been weird. It’s not currently working. I feel like somethings disconnected. I’ve fixed it a couple times but now I can’t. Other than that it’s great.
