  • My full review of the first 30 minutes
This game is so bad ass! Granted, I just got through first 30 minutes... The graphics, the voice acting, the gameplay, the story... everything is absolutely amazing from the first scene. The graphics on PS4 Pro are on par if not better than Horizon Zero Dawn or Assassin’s Creed 5. I can’t really tell you much else 😂, I can just tell it’s going to awesome. ... show more

  • Get a used copy if you must.
Game is better than previous versions, which isn't saying much. The weapons are adequate but the storyline is weak and obvious. Too many random story cuts and lots of unskippable storytelling. The microtransaction addition to upgrade weapons, etc. faster was annoying. Flying planes was barely possible and completely unsatisfying. It was interesting to stealth some missions and the terrain was interesting as well. The whole schtick with flowers that made you high was ridiculous. Once you play the main game there is nothing to do. You've secured the regions and few bad people remain, so it becomes worthless, unlike at least in Ghost Wildlands where there are other elements. I didn't play coop, so I can't attest to the playability of that which I hope is better than other Ubisoft coop which suffers from terrible lag. ... show more

  • Perfect game for running around and shooting
Perfect game for running around and shooting. Not as involved as fallout or skyrim, which is fine in my book. Easy at some points yet challenging and fun. Great graphics and weapons.

  • Good game for the $$
Pros: If you were a fan of Far Cry 4 then there's no reason you won't like the latest incarnation in the series. Not much has changed with the exception of adding NPC teammates that can help you in battle, revive you, and make life a bit easier. Eventually, you'll find yourself going solo as your companions repeat the same five or six lines of dialogue every minute or so and there's no way to turn off their dialogue without just muting the sound. Luckily, there are animal companions that don't talk. I use them quite a bit. You'll find yourself spending time capturing territories by taking over outposts (fun), completing missions (sometimes fun), and completing fetch quests (not always fun) which will increase the resistance in a territory leading to a confrontation with the region's boss. There are also hunting and fishing challenges, stunt runs, and everything else the Far Cry games have always offered. There's also Far Cry Arcade, a feature that I haven't used since I'm still mopping up the one or two side missions before tackling the new challenge. Clearly, the game makers want you to play it since so many NPCs will tell you how awesome it is during the solo campaign. My biggest complaint is the lack of variety in guns, vehicles, and unlockables. Unless your're a completionist, you'll most likely find the three guns that work best for your loadout and rarely switch between them. You can buy others but why bother? As soon as you pick up a gun from the ground it will be available from any seller at no cost. I was hoping there would be more. Still, a great way to kill a few days with great replay potential. ... show more

  • Fun game!
Really like this game!!! Game play and graphics are great. Just waiting for the dlc to come out! Warn you though if your anti 2ns amendment you may be offended by this game, not just that it’s a shooter but there are direct references in this game that I personally found funny but could see where it would offend some lol ... show more

  • The game play is pretty solid. Incredible graphics and Interesting plot line, **spoiler ending**
The game is pretty solid. Great graphics and plot line, but I felt that the upgrade tree was overly simplified, and I really dislike the hunting mechanics. That is, it's too easy to kill wildlife (except the wolverines of course), but feels so unsporting and wasteful to only get bait and skins from kills. Would be much better to have fresh meat that you could donate to those who are in need of food, or as dropoffs that are required at rebel bases. I much preferred the mechanics of FC4, where you needed certain skins of unique animals (much more challenging to hunt) to upgrade your grenade and explosives bag (as an example). **Spoiler Below** This is a "progression based" game, in that you understand that your job is to do as much as you can to build-up your character for the final confrontation expecting that HOW WELL you build up your character will impact how well you do at that final battle. Unfortunately, no matter how well you do in that progression, the ending is pre-programmed to SUCK ROCKS and basically tells the player F*** You, we're stealing your ability to win this game and leaving you with this STEAMING PILE of S***. These jokers just cannot write a satisfactory game ending: a similar problem with FC4: no matter which piller of support you choose, they end-up being monsters themselves. Best aspect of the game was the sizable discount provided by Amazon Prime. Thank you for that! ... show more
