Description

At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Johnny Depp stars a the title villain in this magical adventure. The rest of the cast are unknowns. Sadly they are not appealing enough to the camera for most adult audiences to engage them warmly. This may sound uncharitable on my part. But Hollywood has spoiled us with the star system and mundane looking people do not hold us the way that Tom Cruse or Robert Redford would. Heroic fantasy demands eye candy on all fronts. I did not count off a star for this perceived short coming because our hapless hero is an under dog. So in one way his looks reinforce that aspect of his character. Even so, the story is original and impossible and everything a good fantasy should be. And the effects are spectacular in every way.     • bad dve Received a bad DVD and can not get the DVD and can not get a refund after waiting 3 weeks
DVD would not work. Was bad. after a wait of 3 weeks plus can not get a refund DO NOT EVERY ASK FOR A REPLACEMENT

    • International purchase.
No where on this page does it disclose that it is an INTERNATIONAL purchase. Its gonna come from the UK. You can't play it in America. Pages really should tell us this. Luckily it came with a return sticker. I will be getting a refund.

Inserted movie 6 times in DVD player. Stated movie was not available in our region. We never had any problems with movies. Very disappointed. Would like a refund.

    • Use Some Common Sense
I can't rate this dvd because it won't play in my Blue ray dvd player. I hate to pay money for merchandise that won't work. Why would someone send a dvd formatted for a foreign country to an address in the USA?
