Works great, kiddo LOVES it. Only issue is that the button is right on the front, so if you are looking at it when you turn it on, the owl lights shoot LED beams directly into your eyes and you see spots for a minute. Totally avoidable issue if you are slightly more clever than me.

The lamp works pretty well for what it is. There are a lot of cheaper headlamp/lantern options out there so its just mediocre value-wise. But I got this cause of the owl look which basically looks just like the picture. headlamp is probably for a child, but can easily fit an adult head. I tested it and it fits mine and I have a big head. The headlamps isn't super comfortable as it doesn't have the padding that some other headlamps do, but works well enough for light usage. I wouldn't expect to take or use this in any serious back country camping or thru hiking. Overall its a fun lamp to have and look at. ... show more

Purchased as gifts for grandchildren. They absolutely love these lanterns. Lightweight and so cute. Light is bright, especially the headlight. Comes with headlight, can be hands free and just use the headlight or carry the lantern or both.! One came with batteries in it, one did not have batteries (non issue). This light is cute and light weight. Construction feels decent and shines enough light to illuminate a small room but nothing more than that. That was the reason for the 4 stars. Would recommend for kids.

Got this set for my daughters. The headlamp comes off the strap a bit too easily and the owl lamps batteries do not sit in the case super tight so if it is dropped or jostled the batteries come out and the lamp won't work until you place them back in. Otherwise they love it.

The black & white owl is a simple and fun design. So much nicer than some fantasy creature. My 3 year old grandson loves this lantern, hasn't quite figured out the headlamp (yet!). Uses it outside in the dark, inside playing in the closet, at bedtime. I appreciate the safety of the screw-closed battery compartment.
