This fan is perfect for spaces that are tight on floor space as is our workshop. There's nothing super fancy about its appearance as everything is pretty much made of plastic except for the cage. The instructions aren't the best but assembly was pretty straightforward (just make sure the pins on the fan head go into the narrow slots on the fan cage and not the big holes). The operating instructions could definitely use more detail (the product page displays a bit more detail than the included instructions). The fan can operate via the remote or by depressing buttons on the fan itself but the buttons between the two aren't labeled the same which is somewhat odd to me (the fan shows pictures whereas the remote labels the buttons with words). The written instructions explains only 4 of the 5 buttons on the fan and the button not shown resembles 2 pages. This button is the fan mode which is detailed on the product page but not really explained. This button has 3 settings but the top of the product page and the content displayed further down labels them slightly different - normal or standard (shown with "fan" symbol), natural or nature (shows trees) and sleep (shows several Zzz's). When normal is selected the fan runs continuously like a normal fan does but when the other 2 modes are selected the fan starts/stops continuously and, honestly, I can't distinguish a difference between the two and I also find those modes annoying and unsure how it will really keep the room cool when the the fan operates only for a couple of seconds before it stops again. There is a room temperature display but only displays in celsius so if you don't know how to read that you might want to find a conversion formula (a quick one I found which I think was somewhat close when I converted is: multiply the temperature in degrees Celsius by 2, and then add 30 to get the (estimated) temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. I haven't yet mounted as I'm not quite sure where I want to put it but I did turn it on to give it a test. The fan oscillates well, can tilt (a little too easily imo) and does seem to put out a decent amount of air. There are 3 speed settings each being represented with 3 bars and the product page says 2600 CFM air volume and 21 ft/s at high speed but I don't know how to measure that. I have an industrial floor fan I use in our garage and this is so much quieter and that I appreciate. In looking up similar products the price does seem reasonable. I think it would be a great product with symbols that matched between the remote and fan and a Fahrenheit display. I can't speak to reliability yet as it won't get its workout until this summer. ... show more

This 16” fan is lightweight for its size and does a great job circulating the air. The instructions were difficult for me to understand, but the ones provided on the product page helped. Once I got a few pieces figured out, the assembly went smoothly. The fan's control panel has responsive buttons and an easy-to-read digital display. There is a room temperature feature, which I thought was really cool until I discovered there is no way to change it from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Bummer. You get a remote (2 AAA batteries not included) that makes it convenient to control the fan since it might be mounted too high to reach the control panel. The three fan speeds work well. The fan is very quiet, even on the highest setting. No noise or squeaking when oscillating either. I won’t have to talk louder when it’s on high like I often have to when using my other fans. It would work nicely in a bedroom also, without the sound disturbing your sleep. The tilt feature is super nice, so I can direct it downward when needed. Three wind modes are not mentioned in the manual. I had no idea what they were. Again, I had to go to the product page to find out. They are normal, natural, and sleep. Normal mode maintains a constant speed, while the other two go through cycles. The fan mount is small and easy to install. I love the mounting design of this fan. You slip it on and off the mount, which will make taking it down to clean it periodically a simple task. I really like the quality, quietness, weight, and versatility of this fan. I have confidence it will hold up well. I am happy to have a fan that doesn’t sit on the floor that I constantly have to move and store. No way to lock the tilt position, which is spring loaded, so why have it? Dumb design. Can't believe no other reviewers mention this. I'm returning it.
