When I got it initially, the blade is about an inch too long (or actually the base was an inch too small) and I couldn't assemble it. I left a bad review, and the company bent over backwards to send me a new one that went together perfectly, so I have to say their customer service in made it right for me. Thank you so much

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I ordered this item, but what I received was certainly not what I was expecting! It comes packed in a box, and you have to assemble it. There are about a dozen screws to put it together, and it does not take very long. I have never had a kindling splitter of this type. It took me a little while to figure out how to use it in the best way, but now it lives on my porch, and it is fantastic for splitting some kindling just before I light the stove. As a matter of fact, it makes it so easy and quick that I no longer spend time outside splitting large amounts of kindling with the axe. It doesn't love wood with very tight grain or lots of twists and knots, but it is fantastic for the softwood that I typically use to get my fire started. It has been invaluable during the last few months as I have been recovering from rotator cuff surgery, and this lets me split kindling even with my brace on.

If the blade was even slightly sharp. This might be effective. The description says, the dull blade doesn’t matter. It will cut through anything. WRONG!!! Everything about this is wrong. Do not buy.

This wood splitter is even sturdier and better than expected. Easy to use, cut is sharp and neat. Using it to cut medium and small logs taken from the woods around our home for burning in the fireplace. We plan to get a lot of use from this heavy duty little beast!

It's completely dull. You'll have to sharpen it in order to split any wood.

This is the best type of splitter I've seen. Purchased a different one that was constricting at the top with how large a piece of wood it fits, but this one does not have that issue. It's sturdy and has been put to the test.
