This has been the perfect gift for my non-tech savvy 93-year-old mother. She loves seeing the pictures and nothing is required from her other than to look at the frame. This is a great digital picture frame for a very specific situation, no available WiFi. My Dad is very old-school. He doesn't have or even need WiFi. I bought this because he lives a ways away from me and I wanted him to have pictures of us, the kids, and the grandkids more than just when we visit a few times a year. This frame is the perfect solutions. The frame is big enough and has enough resolution to display the pictures well. It also has options to turn on and off at specific times so it doesn't shine a light at night and keep him awake. It even shows weather warnings for his area which is something that I did not expect. The app could use a little work. It has basic photo editing with the most useful being crop, rotate and overlaying a caption. It could use a few more tools. My main gripe is when I am in the gallery and choose the wrong picture I have to hit the back button which you would think would take you back to the gallery but it actually takes you all the way back to the app's home screen. This is minor but it does get a little irritating. It also limits your uploads via cellular to 10 pictures per day as stated in a few other reviews. This is minor for day to day use but it really extends the amount of time you have to spend preloading the frame. I could have connected to WiFi at my house and loaded it up before I took it to my Dad but I had some time before I was going to see him again and I wanted to get a feel for the interface. I highly recommend this frame if you want to share your memories with loved ones who don't have access to WiFi.

My mom is in assisted living, she LOVES being kept up to date with family, she nor the assisted living staff are "techy", (she does not use a cell phone or computer). Our family has purchased several other brands of digital frames, they all needed wifi, confusing set up, confusing apps to send pictures, no one wanted to use. THIS frame does NOT need wifi, (uses cell transmission without needing to set up an account and FREE), this is the ONLY frame we have found that is truly "plug and play", you literally plug it in, input the frames access code in your cell phone and begin sending pictures that show up nearly instantly in the frame! EVERY member of our family was using it from all over the country in minutes, it is truly incredible!! Pro's you can send messages you can send pictures you can "like" the pictures from the frame (notifies the recipient of the "like" plug it in and works over cell network in minutes no new cell account, Literally "plug it in and it works" easy app to send pictures pictures show up within a minute of sending con's you can only send 10 pictures a day (24 hours) power cord is kind of short sometimes the pictures stop "rotating" need to touch to restart So happy we found this frame we are going to buy 2 more!!

Let's establish some context: Both set of my grandparents are very technologically illiterate. Neither of them have any kind of internet at home. One set of grandparents even have a hardwired rotary dial phone. So we are starting about as primitive as possible here. They know about social media like Facebook but absolutely aren't on it and they do sometimes feel left out because they aren't seeing the photos we are sharing. Enter Familink! As far as I know, there is no other digital picture frame that uses 4G so no Wi-Fi connection is needed. And let me tell you: it works great! I've got all my family hooked up with their easy-to-use app and we are all sending pictures. As for the grandparents, they literally have to do nothing but keep it plugged in. My grandma calls it her "magic picture frame." If you are planning to gift this frame, I encourage you to set it up ahead of time and preload some pictures. You can only send 10 pictures per day so order a bit early so you preload over a few days.

So far we love the frame. We are preloading some photos for my in-laws and getting a feel for how the upload process and adding users fictions work. So far the quality of the frame is fantastic and photos are loaded extremely quick if I am in the app. I love a lot of the user options like setting when it turns on or how quickly the slideshow goes, stuff like that. I also love convenience of having an app that we can control remotely to help troubleshoot if anything goes wrong. The cons I am finding are just technical things like how if the setting respond at all once changed or if the slideshow stops for some reason I can tell how to get it to start up again without going back into the settings again. So like right now, it’s on a picture and is completely stopped. I can go over to it and swim either way but I can get the slideshow to start again and the loop setting is turned on. Opening the app and adjusting a setting again seems to work but is very frustrating to need to do that so often. I would also love the ability to adjust the caption in the app itself for photos that are sent to the frame. Currently we have people sending them via the email link and without realizing it they are entering things in the caption line that we will need to go in, delete, and repost. In all it is one of the better ones I found and am impressed by the reviews so we will see how it goes over the next few months. We are in the US by the way, it does not look like it was entirely intended for us but it works here just fine.
