10/22/26 I have had this for a week. I am astounded by how this has been implemented and what all can be done. The overall quality of this product is excellent. Although you can use it for free, I quickly joined the inapp subscription for $40/year of “Frame Plus” in order to make albums for my pics, plus some other features such as being able to set the picture change time, and increase your remote settings. (The default slide show with free is 10 seconds.) So my comments will mostly apply to the free version, but I may inadvertently mention some subscription feature. A family member or friend can load pictures from their computer or phone. When you set up your Frame you give it an email address. [email protected]. Then using the app you click on the button on the upper right of your phone screen. The screen that comes up is “My Skylight. Click on “Settings.” Click on your Frame name “xyz.” Click on “Manage Users.” Enter an email address and the phone sends an invite to a person and adds them to the “Has access” list. You will be given the choice to Approve the person to load onto your Frame. At any time you can remove their access by selecting “Block.” A second way is that the family member can download the Skylight app and send to your Frame address from the app. There is an “Invite” tab. Although I like the app and its implementation very much, I am using the email method so that my family/friends do not have to download the app. If you have given a person the Frame address just in regular communication, they can send you pics, but they will go into a holding area in Manage Users until you approve them. Then the pic that they sent will be loaded on your frame immediately. It is in the “Has Access” list that you can Block any person later. In the free app you can receive pics, swipe the screen if you want to get to a particular pic, zoom the pic, and send back a heart to the pic sender if you like the pic a lot. In the "Frame Plus" you have more remote control, and can have the slideshow on any mobile device or tablet. I sent their 24/7 support a question about what happens if someone sends you a pic while the Frame is asleep, and they got back to me very quickly. (The new pics park in the Frame until it comes back on.). There is also a small dialogue that comes on the screen advising you that have new pics loaded that you have not yet seen. You click on that on the touch screen and get those new pics. Then it goes back to slideshow. Tapping on the touch screen will also bring up a toolbar that controls many screen settings. One note is that you cannot change order of the pics once they are loaded on the frame. The best you can do is make an album and put them in it appropriately

If you were hesitating about this purchase, I want you to know this is more than just pictures and a frame. This is become a way for my sister and I to communicate back-and-forth about what’s going on in day-to-day life because every once in a while I’ll just add pictures to the frame for the one I sent my mother that is in my sister‘s house and while we’re on vacation, we don’t have to jump on social media to share pictures about what’s going on? I can just sit here and send them to my sister’s picture frame and they can see what we’re doing almost as soon as I take the picture itself it’s amazing. I’m getting ready to buy myself one just because I love this so much and it’s so easy to add new pictures to it.

Love this frame! It arrived fast. Packaging was solid. Nothing broken. Styrofoam corners protected it well. Setup was easy. App connected quickly. I Loaded photos from my phone in minutes. Picture quality is great. Colors look real. Not washed out at all. Screen has a nice matte finish. No annoying glare. Frame itself feels sturdy. Not cheap plastic. Stand is adjustable. Works vertical or horizontal. Photos can be resized easily. The only issue is sometimes they revert back to original after several weeks and I have resize again. My family loves it. We all add photos remotely. Grandkids’ pictures show up instantly. Makes everyone smile. 3 of the 4 families in our family have a frame and the the 4th is getting one so we can all share photos easily. Great gift idea. Five stars, easy. I like it more than I expected to!

I purchased two of these Skylight Frames as gifts for my parents and my in-laws, specifically so they could have a steady stream of pictures of our daughter as she grows up. As far as the hardware and the overall concept go, it has been a massive hit with both sides of the family. What I love: Grandparent-friendly: The touchscreen interface is incredibly simple, making it completely frustration-free for relatives who aren't super tech-savvy. Effortless sharing: We upload new memories for them weekly, and they absolutely love waking up to notifications that new pictures have arrived. Photo & Video support: The fact that it can display both photos and video clips is fantastic. Seeing those little milestones in motion with sound brings the frame to life in a way static pictures just can't match. What I didn't like: The "Skylight Plus" Paywall: What really frustrated me was discovering the hidden costs after purchasing two premium frames. Out of the box, the frame is essentially just an email-powered photo viewer. If you actually want to upload those videos, use the convenient mobile app for your weekly uploads, or add text captions, you are forced to pay an additional $39 per year for a subscription. The Verdict: It is a wonderful device that does exactly what we needed it to do—keep our family connected across distances. However, given the upfront price of the hardware, basic features like video playback and mobile app access should be included natively rather than locked behind an annual fee. Buy it for the ease of use, but factor the ongoing cost into your budget if you want to share videos!

A favorite gift

I originally received this frame a Christmas. It is a wonderful addition to our house. I love it so much, when it finally gave out after many years of use, I bought a second one. We have it on our TV console in the den so we can enjoy all the family photos we have anytime of day or evening. Anyone you want to receive photos, from can be emailed right to the frame.
