I bought both, the Nakiri and the petty knife and I am very pleased with both. They are heavier than my other knives ( Zwilling J.A. Henckels and Aritsugu), but they came very sharp out of the box and even though I have used them heavily the past few days since I got them, they are holding an edge beautifully. The bladé is a bit thicker than I am used to when it comes to Japanese knives, it is closer to the German knives, but it's okay. I have read some reviews stating that the blade broke off during use, and I am being careful to avoid accidents in case that will happen ( I hope not). The handle is comfortable and beautiful. Even though I prefer lighter knives, I like these two for everyday, smaller tasks, and considering that they are on the cheaper side of Japanese knives, I think that I got pretty decent knives for the price. I also like that they included a wiping cloth in the box. Overall, I am very happy with them.

This knife looks very cool. I have had it around 2 years and it is still sharp. It is the only knife I own and use for cooking. I wish I had purchased the full set as I love matching sets of things but honestly this and the paring knife would be more than enough. I am always sure to hand wash and hand dry it immediately. No rust or dulling. I remember shopping for this knife and doing a lot of research for days before I finally purchased this one. Glad I did.
