My old joycons were so worn off that even the paint was starting to wear off, I didn't even know Nintendo PAINTED their joycons, always thought it was colored plastic, anyways, they look brand new now!

Happy that I did try it

I purchased this kit and replace the faulty piece of 2 left joypad. To be fair, it was a bit difficult to put things back together (smaller fingers and a 3rd hand would have been useful). and I messed up one an one of the pieces was not properly positioned and I had to put one of the joypad apart a 2nd time. But in the end I did it. After a quick calibration everything was working perfectly. The kit is well made and you have everything you need.

Pretty good but siding comes opposite to the original joy-cons.

I saved a cracked joycon using this. The only problem was that the coloring comes in opposite sides to the original joy-cons. I had to dismantle both the green and pink joy-cons and switch their parts in order to fix the pink one. The controllers look brand spanking new though.

Splatoon joycon colors!

These things look fantastic. My son loves splatoon and these make it look like he has the special edition splatoon switch. I would say they are intermediate difficulty with plenty of videos on YouTube to follow. You will need patience and a steady hand. Also mini tools. I have plenty from replacing drifting analog joysticks. But don't attempt this with normal tools. You'll need those tiny ones. And the Nintendo security screwdriver

Cheap materials

The yellow shell I received had pieces of extra plastic on the internals, that was preventing the whole closure to completely screw shut. The plastic is very cheaply made and is a bit too small to comfortably close together. After using a bit of force, I managed to break the rumble component of my left joycon. I'm not even going to try installing the right joycon at this point. Other vendors sell reliable shell casings that are better put together. I have plenty of experience replacing joycon shells, but the first time I tried with this seller's yellow case.

First timers do your research!

It was hard to do but awesome! First DIY shell swap and it took forever. Watch a couple tutorials online to make sure you take the easiest route possible!

It's complicated

The shells themselves are nice. This product does not come with extra hardware, screw drivers or SR or SL colored buttons. if you have not changed out controller shells before I do not recommend using this kit as stated above if you lose 1 screw or spring you will need to order a parts kit as well. The shells themselves are OEM quality and look great; just wish that they included the SL and RL buttons to match the shell colors; you will be stuck with what ever the current colors are or will have to purchase the buttons separately
