I don't write reviews hardly ever unless it's horribly bad or incredibly good. First things first the manual is not great its's very basic so youtube is your friend, but once its up and going it took my aquarium that we left over the weekend from a scorching 84 to 77 in about 2 hours.... we had fans in the room and everything to try and cool it.     • DO NOT BUY!!!! I WARNED YOU
So Let me start by saying that I originally received the item in record time. The item worked properly for approximately 6 months. THEN the HORROR arises. I received an alarm on my apex unit that my water temperature was 86 degrees. I go and check it out and the chiller is running and the heaters are off. The Chiller wasn't chilling and was actually producing hot water. I am assuming the condensor is defective. After reaching out to Amazon they put me in contact with the MFG. This seemed promising as the mfg actually responded. Make a long story short they wanted me to pull the unit apart to diagnose for them. I am no electrician nor hvac person and this is a direct violation of Osha Regulations. I reached back out to the MFG and they said they would replace the unit since it was only 6 months old. They would replace through amazon. To date I still havent received the new unit nor have i received any communication from the MFG. Luckily, I put this on a credit card that I can have the transaction disputed with my credit card company but you have been for warned DO NOT buy this product and if you do you better have it setup to receive alerts otherwise you will come home to fish soup.... ... show more

    • Not Reading Actual Water Temp
I started with about 60gal of 79F water and in 12 hours this chiller brought it down to 59F. After 48 hours the water was brought down to 50F. So everything was installed and operating properly. However after 5 days now it is no longer working. The temperature shown on the screen is fluctuating wildly, causing the chiller to kick on and off constantly. My floating thermometer reads 70F but the chiller will read 60F. Within seconds the screen will drop to 55F and turn off. Then it goes back above 60F. It appears the temperature probe inside the chiller is broken. It doesn't matter what settings I use since it fluctuates so much. ... show more
