Seems well made. Looks like the picture. One side had a crooked seam, but that really doesn't matter for this application. Seems heavier than most. Plenty of eyes. It has an odor from the waterproofing coating, but it's not that bad, especially since it will be used outside. You wouldn't want to line your baby's crib with it. The 8' X 10' actually measured close to what they advertise (7'6" X 9'6"). There is a seam in the middle of the long dimension, but I don't think it will leak. I am using this as a roof over my hay trailer for the winter. It has to hold up better than the so-called "heavy duty" plastic tarps that fail after 1-2 years. If I get 3 years out of it, I will consider it a success. Update 1/9/17- The tarp has already developed a rot hole. I won't be buying this brand as a replacement. Lasted 3 months. I got better life from the HD poly tarps I used to use.

This tarp is AWESOME! Yes, it IS 21 oz material, you read that right. Yes, for THAT price! Really well made, sturdy as a beast, and functional as can be. Well waxed, sheets water like a duck's... uh.. feathers. I am going to buy another couple of these, because like all great, well made, sturdy products, I am always afraid I won't be able to buy them again down the road. This tarp harkens back to a time when materials like this were the norm, not the exception. It's like a tarp your dad or grampa would use, back when they had mutton-chop sideburns and handlebar moustaches and wore flannel and fixed anything. It reminds me of a good Crescent wrench, or a really well made pair of shoes. Great workmanship, reliability, and you don't have to worry (or even think) about it not performing its intended function well. (Sigh. I miss those days, don't you?) I use this one to cover the bed of my pickup when hauling a load, and this tarp functions like a CHAMP. Heavy enough that it doesn't flap like a frayed blue white-trash cheapo tarp, and look sharp as well. I use the little ball-bungee straps through the grommets (plenty of them, well spaced around the tarp) and this guy cinches down tight and worry free. I will buy another for a ground cloth for a tent, and one as a shade canopy for camping as well. Highly recommended.

Tarp seems of nice quality. The smell is TERRIBLE. When reviewing the review comments section of people complaining about the smell, I thought perhaps they were complaining about a more petroleum like smell from tarps I have purchased in the past. Not so. These smell like they were fumigated into the fabric with an overpowering commercial perfume like fragrance to mask the ingredients that make them waterproof. Even handling them I had to wash my hands afterward from the smell and film on them as it is so overpowering.. Anything they touch leaves behind this terrible smell. I have them outside airing out hoping the smell will eventually go away. Must stand several feet away from them. I hope whoever manufactures these would seriously consider remedying this.

This tarp is one of my favorite things. I've had it now for 5 years, and it's still in great shape and sheets water. I've used it on my car rack travelling through the desert; I've drive from Texas to Colorado and back several times with this covering boxes in my truck; I've used it to cover and protect plants from frost for several seasons. I do take it in and clean it, and it's only outside for the winter months or when I'm travelling and use it to protect items on my luggage rack. This tarp smells, but it is waxed and sheds water, so that's a small price to pay. I've actually grown fond of the smell. Hands down the best tarp I've ever purchased. Very heavy weight. Excellent at shedding water. This tarp is one of my favorite things I own.

We were sick of the usual cheap poly tarps to cover our small trailer that we use to take stuff to the landfill. We decided to spend a bit more and get this canvas tarp. We can't believe how much nicer and better it is: It's easy to handle and fold up.....it easily folds up into a neat and compact square, unlike the poly tarps. The grommets are solid and good quality, the canvas is strong and thick, and it covers a trailer load without flapping around when on the road at 60mph. We don't feel this tarp is excessively priced, and it is well worth the extra money because it will clearly last. The only thing to emphasize is to pay attention to the SIZE. The listed size (in this case 6x8) is apparently the raw material cut size, but after the edges are folded over a couple of times on all sides and sewn with the grommets then added on, it does end up smaller than 6x8. The size works well enough for us, but if we put a higher load in our trailer (that comes up a bit higher than the sides of the trailer, I think the next size up would have been better...8x10, which would come down farther on the sides of the trailer but which itself would be less than 8x10.

I ordered a 6' x 8' tarp. The one I received had a label in the factory package that stated the same. I purchased a 6x8 because I needed that exact specific size. The actual tarp measured 5'x7'5". Unfortunately this would not work for my application so I had to return it. I gave it 3 stars because the 21oz material and the quality of the product seemed very good. I ordered another one (8x10 this time) hoping to get one large enough to use. ***UPDATE*** I received a comment from the vendor that indicates the advertised size is the "cut size" and that this is the industry standard. My bad for not reading the fine print, and I guess for not knowing the industry standards. The 8 x 10 I ordered is also smaller than 8 x 10 but works for my application. I upgraded the review to 4 stars. It would be 5 but I believe that the actual size of the product should be boldly placed next to the "industry standard" size for those of us who are unaware of this. Seems like that would be simple enough.
