In the past I have used felt wheel tread covers held on with velcro straps on my studded tires when they are dismounted. I've had trouble with the sharp studs on winter tires scratching things ranging from people to paint jobs on cars. They can scratch things moving around them when they are stacked in the off season, or when they are being moved to and from storage. Certainly they can even tear up the epoxy finish on my hangar floor. These wheel covers are sewn together well, are fairly easy to put on (you have to work at tightening and loosening the shock cord iteratively but it's a lot easier than my custom solution which is going in the garbage), and look good. I purchased 4 packs (12) of the 29 - 31.75 for my van and my dually. They fit great on LT245/75R17 and LT235/80R17 tires and the cover on one side is great at protecting the wheel face for pretty alloy wheels. I actually really like the open side for quick identification (I tape wheel position notes for rotation to the inside of the wheels when in storage) as well as a way to pick up a heavy dually wheel by keeping the spokes on the opening side for grabbing. You don't much want to be picking up steel wheels via the nylon strap so much and two hands are pretty much required due to weight. The strap is useful for repositioning the wheels and keeping the cover tighter to the wheel, or even for shifting lighter alloy wheels.

These tire protectors replace some worn and yellowed white ones. Pro's: Very easy to put on! No reaching around the back of the tire to hook anything, they slip over the tire and stay put. Very stylish. Probably the most attractive and unique tire protectors in the camp this week! Staying power: I slipped these on quickly and didn't take super duper care to make sure they were "exactly" on. In other words, I didn't fuss with them. The next day we had 30mps winds that rocked the RV. All the tire protectors stayed in place despite my rather sloppy job putting them on. SIZE- true to size, actually a little bit bigger which makes putting it on the tire very easy. Strength: Made of very strong water and sunlight resistant fabric. I expect these to last many years. FIT: worked great on the dually. No problem with application on the rear exterior tires. PRICE: Fair. Inflation is affecting everything, but these are in the same price range as most tire covers, but they are so much nicer than the white waxy ones! Peace of mind: Awesome. In the hot Arizona sun I know I'm doing what I can to increase my tire's durability and avoid side cracks that could cause a sudden tire failure on the road. Cons: They offer four choices of style, I like the ones I picked the best. It would be SUPER COOL if these came in other colors, like sports team colors (Burgundy and Gold, GO NOLES!) But NONE of the tire covers I looked at on Amazon offered that. But someday, if this company could use the same strong fabric but offer some other colors, I'd probably buy them.

I first bought these covers in February 2020 (for $40) and they have still lasted well to this day, with no signs of tearing or otherwise slowing down! My covers run about ¼” loose and I may size down one day but they have remained on my tires through rainstorms, snowstorms, blizzards, high winds and even recent flooding and show no signs of damage. They collect dust and dirt more easily since I use them daily, but they are easy to clean and remove/apply in a pinch. I believe these tire covers have done their job well as I have not had any noticeable rusting around nor dry rot in my tires, and that in itself is comforting in regards to safety and reduced car repairs. Smooth, decently-fitting, easy to apply with full coverage and a great introduction to tire covers, I give the “Explore Land Tire Covers 4 Pack - Tough Tire Wheel Protector For Truck, SUV, Trailer, Camper, RV - Universal Fits Tire Diameters 26-28.75 inches, Black” a respectable 4/5 stars!

I was a little skeptical at first due to the price and the claim of being heavy duty. I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed with these covers. They are very thick and heavy duty as stated in the description. I love the fact they have a Tire Fitting Guide with all the different dimensions, so you aren't out with your tape measure trying to figure out the exact size. You are basically paying $12.50 a tire for what I believe is top notch protection. Worth every penny!
