    • Great quality and quanitiy at great pice!
Size: 8 Quarts
The Exo Terra Coco Husk Terrarium Substrate, 8-Quart, is an exceptional choice for reptile and amphibian habitats. Made from 100% natural coconut husk, it is eco-friendly and safe for pets. I find its excellent moisture retention is ideal for species needing high humidity, while its texture promotes natural behaviors like burrowing and digging. Additionally, it offers natural odor control, is easy to clean, and versatile for various terrarium setups. The generous 8-quart size is packaged conveniently, providing great value for its quality and benefits. Overall, I think it’s a top-tier substrate for creating a healthy, enriching environment for your pets. ... show more

    • Great option
Size: 8 Quarts
I chose this option for reptiles instead of the coconut husk that was suggested in the gardening section. I got it at a better price and it works great for both..

    • Chunky bits
Size: 8 Quarts
I got this to make my own soil less chunky indoor plant mix. It’s pretty thick and chunky, I had to break a lot of the pieces up smaller which I didn’t mind. But if you do, get one that says it’s smaller chunks if they sell it.

    • Compact
Size: 8 Quarts
We are new snake owners and still figuring things out so this compact block was a little tricky for us to work with. Great price though.

    • This is great stuff!
Size: 8 Quarts
I use this for my houseplants. Works great when you add to coco coir/perlite and make a super chunky mix. Must use a big bucket, put the block in the bucket, slowly add 1 gallon of warm to hot water. Add in 3 tablespoons of peroxide to remove bacteria let sit for 30 minutes making sure you mix that water around so that as the brick breaks up the peroxide gets on all pieces . After the brick has softened you can use your hands to break the rest of it up. Then dump out extra water, and rinse again in cool water dumping out any extra water. ... show more

Love this brand and most of what it has to offer. These affordable bricks really go a long ways. I've used these bricks for several of my reptiles. Holds moisture and easy cleaning.

It hasn't even been a week since attempting to use this for my aroid potting mix. I used this for one plant only so far. I felt like the plant was acting weird so I dug around in the pot and discovered MOLD on some of the husk pieces. I bought two bricks but only used one. There was no mold in the brick at all so I'm not sure what happened. Also, my brick is mainly hard pieces of husk and lots of long fibers. Not very many chunks in mine which isn't very good for what I'm using it for. My plant now had root rot after using this. I'm so sad. ... show more
