However, no more than one point of use at a time is recommended. Recommended for incoming cold water temperature above 50°F, however it can take lower incoming temperatures down to 40°F by reducing water flowrate (control knob can be adjusted to less water flow). The Excel Low Pressure Startup unit is outfitted with a magnetic water flow sensor , that allows the unit to work at low water pressure, especially those found in rural areas , RV's and Boats. • Awesome machine
As most Americans getting bent over by the government we decided to switch to this propane hot water on demand. It's well worth the money. It will get hot as all get out. Easy hookup as we cheated and used a flex hose from a spout downstairs hook into bottom, buy a propane hose with regulator and hook it up and then get a small shower hose to connect, place batteries in it turn on propane, switch and activate water and you have hot water within 5 seconds. Absolutely wonderful machine, good quality and well worth the money. Wish it came with all the attachments but it's worth it all the same. ... show more

  • Good but gas inlet connection took some work
Excellent little unit. Arrived quickly, in excellent shape, easy to follow instructions, and relatively easy to set up. I got this unit for hot water in my office grid cabin: shower, bathroom sink, and kitchen. Water connections were a breeze, with shark bite connections to my 1/2" pex plumbing system. Gas connection was more involved. The unit requires a regulator, and it would help if it shipped with one matched to the gas inlet fitting it ships with. I eventually solved the problem, but in required assembling a regulator with fittings purchased from Amazon and the local hardware store. Once connected, I installed batteries, opened the valve on my lpg line, and turned on the hot water faucet. The unit instantly fired up, and delivered hot water at all faucets and the shower in just a few seconds (the shower has a longer delivery line). I have used it now for a week and have no complaints. The water is HOT, from a supply tank at about 55 degrees, the temp at the faucet is over 120 degrees! Much better than expected! It goes to full on hot in less than 5 seconds and shuts off as soon as I close the hot water faucet in the sinks or shower. Instant on, instant off. I was worried based on some other reviews, but it doesn't overheat and works continuously as long as there is water flowing through the hot water lines. Very pleased for the price and quality and performance. This is installed inside my cabin, near windows for fresh air during use. It gives off no more exhaust than my Mr. heater buddy propane heater. ... show more

  • Heats great and hot
I mounted it in my truck bed camper. Loved it because it instantly heats water and vents waste gasses ok, as long as you have some ventilation in the space where it is mounted. After about a year however, the copper tubing corroded through and it had a big hole in the internal pipe that shot a stream of water out. I'm currently looking for someone to weld the hole closed so I can use it again. I would buy again. ... show more

  • Best choice I've ever made
Installed this in my travel trailer. It was easy to install. The temperature is pretty consistent and the water stays warm for as long as you need it.

  • WARNING INJURY ALERT! DO NOT BUY!
MANUFACTURER DEFECT POSSIBLE DO NOT BUY!! I never write reviews, neither for bad or for good, but I chose to write this for everyone else's safety. Bought the unit January 3rd of 2022. Was working fine and then about a week ago (second week of February) it stopped running and we had no hot water. Figured out the cheap junky batteries they supplied only last about a month. With all faucets shut I put new batteries in. As soon as I did I heard the igniter clicking, thought it odd since there was no water flowing, and this isn't suppose to happen. The heater is only supposed to ignite when there is water flow, and for reasons you will soon realize... anyways... Took my flashlight and stuck my head under the heater and peaked inside to see if there were flames. I saw the blue flames for a second, next thing I know my ears went deaf, my face stinging in pain, and water was everywhere. The pipe had burst right if front of my face. Thank goodness I wear glasses... I have no idea why this happened but as soon as I put those batteries in the heater immediately kicked on and started to heat the water. Pressure built up in the pipes and found the closest weakest point to burst from the pressure build up which just so happened to be in front of my face. It took a couple minutes till my hearing came back but they rang all night. The skin on my face became red and stung all night from the pressurized hot water. I pray this doesn't happen to anyone... Two things to note. That white stuff you see at the top of the fittings is water weld. You won't be able to get the fittings tight enough without bending the copper tubes. So I tightened them as much as I could, they still leaked, and I put water weld to seal them up. Secondly, I used PEX to plumb my system (as most do these days) which is rated at 160psi. So the fact that that much pressure was built up within seconds of me installing the batteries is a bit unsettling. Hope this is helpful for you all. ... show more

  • Doesn't get that hot

  • EXCELLENT VALUE FOR THE MONEY
We store our household water at the top of a steep incline and gravity feed the water to the house. The water pressure isn’t really high. With the two other tankless water heaters we’d had we constantly battled inconsistent hot water due to low pressure. It was extremely frustrating…especially in the shower. This heater turns on at 10psi! And stays on. The water temperature will get hot enough to scald you so we had to turn it down. We are very very happy with this product and would not hesitate to recommend it for off grid living, camping, or hunting lodges. It was easy to install and we had no need to contact tech support. ... show more
