At 10 amps this little saw has a lot of power, it took me about an hour just to set up but once set up is all good. Overall, is a powerful saw that can cut through metal with ease. it comes with a general saw blade that cuts wood, plastic and soft metal. I decided to buy an extra saw blade that is specifically for metal use. That way the saw blade will last longer. i was surprised to see package comes with some spare safety glasses, as well as foam ear plugs as the machine is quite loud while in use. Safety Glasses and ear plugs was a good attention to detail. Overall this is a great little machine, however when using most important is you secure whatever you are cutting well, from the front end and the back end, because if not the item you are cutting can fly out. I was a little hesitant after reading a few of the negative reviews but this is an excellent metal saw. I use it for repeated cuts in 1/4" aluminum angle for a part that I make. Cuts like butter and the cut finish is excellent. No more grinding. There is a slight burr left after the cut but nothing significant. The miter is square and accurate. It got to me in 36 hours from time of order. 100% positive experience and a quality product Update!!! The blades are junk. Mt band saw blade will outlast one of these at least five to one. I'm going to try one of the aftermarket ones here on Amazon. If that doesn't work I'll shelve the saw. Too expensive to operate regularly. Too bad, it's got a nice compact footprint. I had high hopes for it. June 24 2018 update. I decided to tough things out with this saw. I've purchased a few blades from competitors and also a few from Evolution. My quandary was that it is such a compact little saw that doesn't take up much space in my small shop balanced against fast blade wear. After eating a few more blades from Evolution and different manufacturers, I decided that a lot of the problem was user error. Slow and easy is the key. If you force things you will spend money. I have only cut 4 cuts through 1/2 inch thick by 2 inch flat solid A36 steel bar, but even taking it slow it made each cut in about 6 seconds with the included 20 tooth blade, which is considerably faster than using abrasives to cut. You have to be careful to go slow and don't pull down hard while cutting with the 20 tooth blade or you can break the carbide teeth off, it only takes gentle downward pressure to cut. If you have to push down hard, your blade is dull or missing teeth. Another tip for blade life is to let the blade stop spinning after the cut before raising the saw up so the teeth don't snag on the metal piece you just cut off, this will prevent a lot of broken teeth on the blade. ... show more

The materials and design on this cheap chop chow are weak. Right out of the box the arbor hex screw stripped. Never seen a hex screw head strip at all, so this was surprising. Replaced it with another M6 hex-screw, which worked well. The blade cover holes are out of place, randomly by 1mm in any direction, so it is a bit difficult to force the cover back on the saw. There goes your "High quality construction". The vise is just terrible; made of folded/pressed sheet of metal; and obviously with no accuracy guarantees. The saw blade is not properly square to the table. If you put pressure to it goes several degrees out of wack. The worked metal piece moves around in the vise because there is no proper contact and the vise is not securing the metal piece correctly. This results in cuts that ragged and slanted, even if you use an engineering square to reposition and tune all of the Cheep Chop Chow. When they write 0.5 deg accuracy, that might have been an honest marketing mistake. The accuracy on my several test chops was about 5 deg - horizontally and vertically. There is an "exhaust" port at the back, but it does absolutely nothing and all the dust and shavings fly all around. Another marketing lie. Summary. If you use it for some structurally unimportant and hidden planks of wood, it maybe your choice over a table saw. On the other hand, you would do comparably well with a hand saw (or an axe). If you bought it to cut aluminum extrusions, just return it, before even unpacking. Do NOT waste ANY of your time on this Cheep Chop Chow. Unless? Unless... you want to spend your construction project in RAGE! ... show more

I've been using this saw for a year now and it doesn't disappoint. I've used it to cut square tubing up to 2 inches and it cuts like a champ. Also use is to cut strut channel and cuts smoothly. Now I made a mistake and tried to cut some stainless which buggered up the blade on my own fault but for the price of the machine it doesn't disappoint for it's size. Does the frame have some flex, Sure it does. It's not your high-end expensive metal saw. For the price point you can't go wrong ... show more
