  • Stopped working after 3 months, had to pay $20 regardless of 10 year warranty
I build computers and usually prefer Corsair, but chose the EVGA simply because Covid has halted availability of Corsair stock. One of the two PSUs (650G) I purchased stopped working after 3 months. I reached out to their technical support and received the standard 48 hour reply. After confirming I already performed the appropriate jumper tests, they permitted the RMA. I chose to prepay to have the replacement sent first (you pay a collateral charge equal to the amount of the PSU), but it still did not arrive for 5 days. The new one is working fine, but I had to pay $19.70 to ship the PSU back. This is standard RMA procedure, but it really bothers me that a PSU with a 10 year warranty breaks after a couple months and I am out $20. ... show more

  • Great for me
I bought a Corsair before this that was fried from the moment I got it, this worked great out of the box and honestly was a better choice overall because of the longer warranty. Not only that, the wires that come with this are a lot more flexible and easier to use and seem of higher quality. I’ll probably stick to EVGA from here on. I’ve never heard the fan Kick on so it must be running cool. I use this to power a 2070 super overclocked and a ryZen 3800x ... show more

  • Great but Caveats.
Overall great but have caveats! Cons first 1) this psu doesn’t supply right-angle sata cable 2) this psu requires using its own cable. You cannot put a cable say from Seasonic on it. So if you need right angle cable, be sure to use adapters. Other than that, it’s great.

  • Motherboard cable didnt fit
My son bought this to replace the seasonic G series 650 he had used to build his PC, which died after 4 months. But it really wouldnt fit in his case (Phanteks Eclipse Steel Mid Tower). The motherboard cable had a thick chunk of glue holding the wrapping on which made it absolutely too thick to fit through the openings available. Even if we had decided to try to cut up the case to make room, this cable was too short - 5 inches shorter than the dead PSU and the 450 he salvaged (temporarily) from an older PC - 17 inches long. If that wasnt enough, several of the other cables exited the power supply too far away from the place they needed to feed through. In the end we bought another brand (recommended in the case reviews) and bought a non-modular one so the cables all came out from the corner we needed them to come out from. ... show more

  • No coil whine!!!!
This power supply was cheap and works great been ran stress test for 3 days no issues. I was a bit scared to purchase reading reviews but I guess it has a lot with luck I bought 2 corsair power supplies both had coil whine and bad coil whine but this one on a deal I couldn't resist no coil whine I have a 3070 on a 650w ga model power supply with no issues knock on wood. Modular power supplie with cables are black not the ugly mustard things. Evga makes solid products second evga power supply the first one I passed down to my little brother 5 years and still running strong and quiet. ... show more

  • Disappointing
This PSU worked fine for the first seven months or so. Now it seems that Eco Mode has stopped working reliably. The fan is supposed to come on as needed to keep the unit from overheating, but sometimes the PC shuts down instead. If I turn the PC back on shortly after a spontaneous shutdown and flip the Eco Mode switch off, the fan runs at a very high speed and pushes out a lot of hot air. When I run the system with Eco Mode turned off, the fan is quite noisy in my opinion. I have a G2 and a G3 and am very happy with them, but this one is a disappointment. I'm considering an RMA. ... show more

  • Unfortunately was defective, DOA
Got an open box deal... Well went through the install, put new MoBo, CPU in tower, all hooked up, tried to power up, and well nothing. Then installed my working PS, worked fine. Had to esplain this to Amazon chat rep, who ignored what I wrote, who then insulted me by saying are you sure you know what your doing, essentially, had to reiterate that mine worked fine. Was able to get a refund and they had UPS pick up at my door. ... show more

  • Good value!
The most important thing about a PSU is that it can power your PC without having a catastrophic failure. *ahem* gigabyte *ahem*. Most people think that 80+ gold is how to know a good quality psu, but that is not the case *ahem* gigabyte *ahem*. The real way of know is to buy from a brand you truast that offers a good warranty. EVGA I trust especially after how well they handled the recent issue with their 3090 cards, and this psu has a nice 10 year warranty! The 80+ gold and fan options are nice, but really this is a great 10 year warranty 650 watt PSU ... show more
