  • Amazing Power Supply!
Style: G3 Size: 850W
So I have had this Power Supply two years now. I bought mine from Amazon Warehouse. It was listed as Used - Like New. And boy was it. It was brand new in the box and hasn’t been opened. The box just had a minor scratch/ding if you would even call it that. Product came just as if I got it new and I only paid 74.99!!! I have the EVGA G3 Supernova 850 Watt 80+ Gold version. Wow this thing is amazing. Fully modular, braided cables, 80+ gold, very very nice box, comes with a case for the PSU itself as well as a case for the extra cables. If you look up google reviews on this PSU you will see how amazing it is. 10 year warranty says it all. In testing they found out that EVGA could have listed this as a 1000 watt platinum rated power supply. It took over 1050 watts to shut this thing off! By far the best PSU I have ever owned. I’ve had it for two years and not had a single issue ever. I’ve never heard it once till this day. It runs so cool and quiet I had to check and make sure the fan was working. I’m not easy on it either. I have an Asus Prime X570 - PRO motherboard with an 8pin plus 4 pin cpu power. My system has a Ryzen 3900X overclocked, RTX 2070 Super massively overclocked, 32GB of G.Skill 3600mhz Ram, 6 case fans, a PCIe wifi 6/BT 5.0 wireless adapter card, one HDD, 3 sata SSDs, and two NVMe M.2 SSDs. My CPU cooler is a huge Noctua NH-D15 with twin 140mm fans as well. I provided some pics but that was before I upgraded the case, GPU, and CPU cooler. In this pics the GPU is a GTX 1070 and Hyper 212 Evo cooler with twin 120 fans. My PC also has a optical drive, NZXT LED touchscreen that controls my temps and fans, a portable SSD, headset, keyboard, mouse, sound system, microphone, RGB gaming desk, Xbox One controller, duel monitors, and other things plugged in still. I have tons of things being powered by this Power Supply and my PC is on and running anywhere from 5 to 10 hours a day, everyday. I can’t praise this PSU enough. Once again I got this 850 watt, 80+ Gold, fully modular, 10 year warranty EVGA G3 Supernova for 74.99! I can’t stress how amazing of a deal that is for the PSU I now have. I would def pay full price for this. A PSU of this quality that will last you 10 years at the very minimum. You can’t beat that imo. Plus its completely silent, runs cool, looks super nice, and the cables are very high quality. 850 watts is enough to power whatever 99% of most people would ever need. I have between 3-4000 dollars in my PC now and it’s a beast. I don’t even come close to using 850 watts. If you catch this PSU in stock and most definitely if you catch it on sale buy it instantly! 11/10 from me. Before this I had a Corsair 750 watt PSU and this unit blows it out of the water in every way possible. EVGA fan for sure now. So much that my RTX 2070 Super is EVGA and it looks and runs just as nice as this Power Supply and comes with the same fantastic warranty(even tho I voided it on the card lol). Just buy it. ... show more

  • Solid PSU for midrange to upper-midrange builds
Style: G3 Size: 650W
Bought these in February 2017 because my previous Corsair AX750 was giving me too many issues. I know the AX series Corsair PSUs are supposed to be champs, but I RMA'd through 3 or 4 of these and I was just getting tired of having these things crap out on me. 5 stars on Corsair's customer support, but the AX750 was a dated model and I didn't need as much power from the PSU as I thought. After digging through pages upon pages of reviews, I decided on the EVGA 650 G3, ultimately because of the review from jonnyguru, who is pretty much the authoritative source for PSU reviews. He basically gave this a near-perfect score and basically said that EVGA is capable of competing with the "big boys" of PSU brands, and with their 10 year warranty on this thing, it's great knowing that I'll have a PSU I can use in future builds. Much like the AX750 I got, the PSU came in a nice little cloth bag with all the modular power cables also in its own bag. The included power cord was a beefy and thick high gauge one (don't know the number offhand, but it was *really* thick) and the documentation was great. It was a little easier to route the cables on this thing compared to the AX750 - the connectors on the PSU were located higher than on the AX750 since it was designed with being mounted with the exhaust port facing up. Worked right off the bat as soon as I turned it on. This PSU does have an "economy" mode so the fan *will initially not spin when you flip it on*. This part puzzled me but after I read up about it I learned it's completely normal for the PSU and is a feature of their newer models, including the G3 variant. Don't be fooled by builders who tell you you NEED a 750 or higher watt power supply. It depends completely on your build and what's most important is the amount of amperage that is provided by the 12v rail, as that's the rail that is used to power your GPU and your optical drives. The 650 is able to pack almost 55 amps on that single rail, which is more than enough for most midrange to upper midrange builds, especially if you're only doing light to moderate overclocking. For $90 (at the time of this writing) you can't go wrong with this PSU. It's a little bit on the pricey side, but you absolutely *do not* want to cheap out on the PSU. Pay a few less bucks for the lesser wattage, sure (the 650 is a bit cheaper than its big brother the 850), but do *not* buy a low quality no-name brand. You do not want to end up frying your expensive PC because you chose to cheap out on this part. On bad days you might get a fried computer and on even worse days you might be running with a fire hazard in your home. Just get the better stuff - you'll get more bang for your buck out of it. Lastly, EVGA's customer service is top notch. They have a 24/7 technical support line that is located right here in the US. You will get a breathing human that doesn't have a frustrating to understand accent at any time of day, and you know how the worst computer problems always seem to happen when *no one is open*. They're prompt to respond via e-mails via their ticket system (which has stayed pretty much the same since the mid 2000's, which isn't a problem since it's very efficient) and sometimes if you take issues to the forums they'll even respond to you over there. You won't go wrong with these folks. Excellent customer service brings return customers - Corsair I may not buy their PSUs as much, but I would always recommend their other products. EVGA's made a believer out of me with their GPUs, mobos, and now PSUs. ... show more
