Having heard of EVGA’s breakup with NVIDIA I purchased this card as a last hoora and an upgrade from my 3070 ti FTW3. At the 900$ price sure a 2 year old series of card yet still holds its own. Looking at the reviews before purchase seeing all the thermal throttle and high temp warnings I was worried to say the least. However through my own experience and setup I have seen no issues that are not fixed by a change in case fan curve. Yes this card can reach 80 Celsius in games no it did not throttle for me. I run this card with a light overclock at 2010 mhz full voltage and power limits. With COD 2019 maxed out it rarely hits 80C at a locked 60 fps. In my setup I don’t have any crazy cooling just 10 Corsair rgb sp120 fans and a water cooled cpu in a 5000x case. Personally I view the cooling issues as user error. After 10 years, I finally decided to upgrade my Alienware Aurora-R4. I replaced its NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 with EVGA's GeForce RTX 3090 XC3 ULTRA GAMING graphics card (24G-P5-3975-KR, 24GB GDDR6X, iCX3 Cooling, ARGB LED, Metal Backplate). Model 24G-P5-3975-KR was a a perfect fit since it is the smaller version of EVGA's GeForce RTX 3090 GPU cards measuring Height: 4.38 in - 111.15mm X Length: 11.23 in - 285.37mm X Width: 2.2 Slots. Furthermore, model 24G-P5-3975-KR only required two available 8-pin or 6+2pin PCIe power dongles whereas larger models required three available 8-pin or 6+2pin PCIe power dongles. My R4 setup had two 6+2pin PCIe power dongles connected to an 850 W power supply that has worked efficiently for the new 3090 card. Physical installation was easy. Driver install was a snap. Registration at EVGA's support website was a breeze. The only downside was that I immediately noticed a couple millimeters of sag at the unsupported end of the new graphics card. The old 690 had a wedge/bracket support at the end its unsupported end. However, the old wedge/bracket support did not fit the 3090. But I made an easy fix. I measured 2" from the bottom of the card to the next base plate below the card in my R4 rig. So, I used a 2" long X 1/2" wide plastic screw that I found in my toolbox to stabilize the unsupported end of the 3090. It worked great as a pillar to level and stabilize the unsupported end of the 3090. Right away I noticed huge improvements after essentially upgrading across six generations (690 to 3090) of GeForce GPUs. Graphic performance has been so smooth! I anticipated hotter temperatures and louder fan noise, but EVGA's GeForce RTX 3090 XC3 ULTRA GAMING card has operated so much more efficiently than the old 690 to keep the average temperature in my rig between 60c to 90c while humming along much more quietly even while playing graphic intensive games on ultra or very high settings. If this 3090 holds up for the next 10 years like my 690 did, well that will just be icing on the cake! ... show more

This card was over priced when purchased performance was not great great on high performance games and to end this review with the card died at the 3 year old mark to the day. I have used EVGA cards before and was happy with previous products of theirs in the past, do NOT buy this card. Support quote, this card is 3 years old. So, a very expensive mediocre card that died as if on a 3 year timer. ... show more

Received my unit fast. Ridiculously clean. If it wasn't for the scratches on the serial number stickers, I'd think this was brand new. Faceplate was a bit bent, but so minimal that I didn't even need to do anything to it and it fit perfectly. I am not sure why it is selling $1420 now, but this card is awesome. It is super quiet and totally worth it for under $1000 bucks.

I bought this card after the shortage from a retailer that was a fair bit over MSRP. I found a decent deal for the card all things considered. If you are looking for an update from the RTX 2000 series or just an upgrade the 3090 is well worth the money. I installed a water block for custom water cooling so I cant say what the temps are on the air cooler. Overclocked runs great, the card on water stays right around 40-50 degrees under load. Even with the price gouging I am satisfied the 24 gigs of VRAM is legit runs every triple A title out. ... show more

I have an open system where I have other RTX 3090 FE installed, I bought two of these cards, these cards are right on top of these cards and they are impressively hot. Disconnect all the others and leave one of them alone, thinking that the temperature of the others could be having this effect on them, and no, they continued with the same temperatures, with levels of 68ºC when the 3090 FE are kept at 52ºC ORIGINAL WITHOUT TOUCHING THEM . If you plan to put a water cooling system, buy them, they are very good, but if not! Do not buy it, they will be a total headache !!! ... show more
