The media could not be loaded. If you're anything like me, and have been raising poultry for many years, you may recognize the design of this incubator. Although I've never owned that other one, I would venture to guess this one is nearly identical. I have tried several off-brands, but none have worked as well as my homemade Prissybator/coolerbator which is made from a cooler or ice chest. I have been wanting something that doesn't take up nearly as much room and that doesn't require me to turn the eggs. I am VERY impressed with the ease of use, build quality, and overall functionality of this Everygrow model. It maintains a steady temperature as well as humidity, does all the turning for me, takes up very little space, and uses less electricity. I most definitely prefer this over anything else I've tried. If you have never used an incubator before, this one comes preset for hatching chicken eggs. If you plan on hatching anything else, the instructions clearly explain how to adjust the settings. The temperature and humidity are clearly displayed on top of the unit and it is near silent. When it turns the eggs, they do make a little noise rolling around, but it isn't bothersome. I don't know about all of the units, but mine had an extremely faint orange mark on the lid that you are supposed to align with the orange mark on the base to get the lid to fit properly. It was difficult for me to see, so I simply made it a bit more noticeable with a marker. Be sure to read the instructions and use the included wicking sponge for consistent humidity. Hubby and the kids ordered this for me for Christmas! I've wanted one for years as we never had much luck with a styrofoam incubator (except the time a mama duck died a week before her ducklings hatched 19 years ago.) Had been eyeing this type of incubator for several years, and kids had been browsing the listings on Vine to get me something as a gift, showed their father and he approved them to get it. A thorough reading of the directions makes the use of it look pretty straightforward. Plugged it in and it warmed up appropriately (preset for chicken eggs). Can't wait to order some hatching eggs to try it out. Humidity system looks more secure than some of the similar incubators (that attaches the water bottle with a little tube, which doesn't work for us because we have cats that would tip those kind over, chasing mice.) ... show more

Seems tough, holds temp and the automatic turner works great. Easy to use and the system it has for adding humidity is helpful. Pretty good incubator.

Love this incubator. The temperature and humidity has stayed constant, no need to open anything with the water bottle keeping the humidity regular. I for see better hatch rates with less changes in climate
