The leather seat measures 17" but from the sidebar of the armrests it is only 15". Have to squeeze a little to get into seat. Also, she mentioned that the footrests were on backwards. I worked on them for over 1/2 hour to figure out what was wrong. After reading her review I turned the bottom pipe around and the footrests were not only in the correct position, but they also locked like they should. E&J needs to tell the assemblers in China that they are putting the footrests on backward. I have been around wheelchairs for 54 years (my husband) and those footrests had me confused until I read her review. ... show more

Thank you to Barbara and to Elly reviews! The footrests are assembled backwards from the manufacturer. Per their reviews, I was able to correct the issue. I turned the bottom pipe around and the footrests are now in the correct position and are properly locked

It took a while to figure out the best way to use this chair, but it had turned out to be very helpful for our 86 year old mother. The Rollalator we bought two years ago for her was great, but she needs more support now and a full wheel chair is difficult to manage. The chair fits easily in most cars; the leg extensions were a little hard to manipulate and use, but we finally figured out how to use them. The turning was difficult, but we figured that out too...don't back up, just execute a turn. Our mother still has independence, since it is easy for her to move the chair herself while sitting in it using her feet. She is able to go shopping at the mall now without fear of falling or having to get a loaner wheel chair at the mall. The price was affordable and the chair appears to be durable as long as it is cared for properly. ... show more

I wish there was more specific info about the weight of this. It's as great as the same one I have had 10 years except, oddly, it's a touch heavier. Having a bad back, which is why I use this to sit rather than stand or to sit in when I'm at a place with nothing but hard chairs, the beauty of it was that I could lift it and put it into my Rav4 easily since it was so incredibly light. I can't tell but this version seems to be maybe 3 to 5 pounds heavier. Bummer. Other than that, the prior one lasted me 10 good years and it's still servicable just a brake broke and the padding on an arm got a tear and tore off part of that black covering. I wanna donate it to a thrift store since someone can still use it. This is a great product. ... show more
