Does the job and stays put. I like the fact that it is less "fussy" and more robust than other, more complex designs. This has been my "go-to" for many years. I play primarily Celtic, Old Time and Bluegrass. I end up playing outdoors a lot and various temperature and humidity conditions.

I was impressed by this shoulder rest. I'm pretty tall (like usually the tallest person anywhere I go), and have a long neck, so I ended up finding a rest that allowed the violin to raise higher, and now I can comfortably balance the instrument between my chin and and my shoulder without using my hands, and without strain or discomfort. The one I bought is more than three times the cost, and is a challenge to fit in the violin case. So for the majority of the people, I think this shoulder rest would be a good choice, and it is highly adjustable and good quality. ... show more
