  • Highly recommended!
Format: Hardcover
I love this cookbook. Although it has been out of print for many, many years. Amazon can always find a seller with a copy in Brand new condition. Highly recommended!

  • A Classic That You Should Own
Format: Hardcover
I've known this book for many years since probably the mid-1990's. We used to get it from our local library and had always wanted to buy a copy but it had been out of print (mind you, this was before the Internet really came into being). I had largely forgotten about the book for many years until recently I decided to make an old recipe from this book, Chicken Chilaquiles Casserole, based off of memory. It came out well, but I decided to try to find the book on Amazon, and lo and behold, here it is! The book itself is a nice hidden gem. It introduced me to poblano peppers, which are now among my favorite things in the world. The aforementioned Chicken Chilaquiles Casserole is simply amazing, one of my all-time favorite dishes if done right (do yourself a favor and make the New Mexico Green Sauce from scratch, as the recipe calls for). The Navajo Fry Bread recipe is also great. It's an old book and its style/art direction are definitely dated. I would classify it as a delightful "time capsule" to the late 80's and early 90's. I highly recommend adding it to your collection if you are interested in Southwest cooking. ... show more

  • Good Southwest cooking
I have enjoyed using this cookbook for the recipes and the ideas for this type of regional food. The recipes are delicious but also easy to make.

  • Spicy Cookbook
My wife saw some recipes in this cookbook at my son's house. she wanted a copy for herswelf. We ordered a copy from Amazon. A "used" copy arrived 2 weeks later by USPS. It was like new. We have enjoyed several of the recipes. A great buy!

  • I Keep Wearing It Out
I find I need yet another new copy of this recipe book. I've worn out two (so far) through frequent use. The recipes are sophisticated yet are written in a manner that's easy to understand. I bought my first copy when I was first learning to cook; and I still reach for it now that I am much more accomplished. I always receive compliments when I use any of these recipes for entertaining. ... show more
