  • Oldie but goodie
Sturdy, comfortable.

  • The best shoulder rest
I like to hold my violin high and not like a fiddle, so this rest is perfect. It is super adjustable and can go really high and low. It also could fit a viola. I have been using it for over 10 yrs and cant play with anything else. The rubber end pieces will need to be changed after a few yrs, but other than that its bullet proof. ... show more

  • Can't live with it, but can't live without it.
The first time I put this new one on my fiddle, one of the metal tabs slid out onto the floor. Still, I find this one of the more comfortable shoulder rests and one that stays put. I'm sorry to find that this model isn't readily available anymore.

  • The Best is hard to find except on Amazon....
This Wolf Shoulder-Rest is by far the best one on the market. My Students all want one just like it.It is so adjustable that it fits any comfort desired. This one will also fit a small Viola. This model also breaks down for easy carrying in the Violin case. This is the one.....

  • shoulder rest
I found the shoulder rest to be very unfriendly and hard to adjust. I couldn't eliminate the rattle I heard.

  • Prepare a mallet, a screwdriver, a pair of pliers, ...
The shoulder rest I got was defective. The fixed leg was tilted at a mad angle to the rest, so it took a pair of pliers and wrenched the thing perpendicular. The "adjustable" leg refused to be pushed or pulled in, despite loosening the tightening screw. Reading over the sparse unintelligible instructions (they're written by a non-English speaker) I found no help so I took out one screw and loosened another, trying to figure it out. It was insufferable as a donkey drugged with sleeping pills. Nothing was budging at all. Eventually I dismantled the whole rest. It took brute force to pull the sliding rod out of the metal tube (which was bent) and I replaced the stubborn overly tight plastic mini tube with a wider one I had. I pounded out the metal tube with a mallet, got the sliding rod to edge back in, and after about 2 hours of this rubbish, I finally got the shoulder rest legs to match the picture and work properly. Maybe my shoulder rest was crushed in a warehouse, run over by a freight of circus elephants, but superficially the rest looked fine, like no tire tracks on the packaging, but *something didn't work* - mainly the whole thing!! But the shoulder rest, once you get it working, supports the violin smartly. It is comfortable and firmly grips the violin. ... show more
