It is not adjustable, unlike many others that I have gotten in the past for the price range. I personally was more used to a different shoulder rest, so this one felt pretty bad.

This is a very well constructed device. It’s attractive. It fit on my 4/4 violin. However, it did not accommodate my need for better positioning of my violin, according to my professional violinist instructor. The price was right and the return was not a problem, thanks to Amazon‘s business model. I’ve settled on a highly malleable device even if it is a little more expensive. It’s the same device my instructor used for years. Trés Bon musically speaking……;)

I got this for my 10 year old and he says it's perfect. His teacher suggested an ugly plastic one and this is what I found on Amazon. She loved it so much after seeing it that she ordered the same one for herself. It's perfectly adjustable and very comfortable for my 10 year old. He says other kids complain about their shoulder rest all the time in class, and he loves his. It looks so nice and feels so natural even when I've tested it out myself. I wish I had one like it when I was a kid learning to play the violin.

It was sturdy but it did not stay attached to the violin. Either the end pieces are to loose or its just not the size it claims to be. My daughter gave up after a week and started using a sponge attached with a rubber band because it was less hassle and she got frustrated that the shoulder rest was "falling off every 5 seconds"
