I was able to try Lift Off Volume Shampoo complimentary from Eva NYC and I was so in love with it! The shampoo itself is wonderful but packaging is terrible! The shampoo bottle was shipped in a plastic bag instead of a box. Ordered 1 and received a replacement from Amazon and unfortunately both were damaged and leaked everywhere. The pump broke. I have to return both. I’m hesitated to order another one since I doubt Amazon would change the packaging… Maybe I should order straight from Eva NYC website rather than on Amazon.

I’m not sure if everyone is receiving the same broken and leaking bottles or what! My bottle came in a clear zip lock type baggie just like others’ pictures. I was struggling to get the bottle out of the bag upon first opening and now I know why. The product leaked as the top was not on right. It actually looks like it was previously opened. I know others kept the product and used it but if I’m not confident this product wasn’t tampered with I’m not using it. Eva NYC you really need to look into this issue. Seal the bottle and put the pump in the package separately! Returned.

I'm a little shocked since my hair never absorbs product (it's virgin low porosity straight hair on a mixed female that never gets styled) but this made my hair feel like soft feathers. It also made my hair flip outwards which is what I wanted so it would stop being completely straight, I don't even want to use a flat iron to flip the ends out anymore. My hair is shoulder length and I was getting ready to start doing more with it by styling my layers but I'm just going to keep using this shampoo and conditioner. The title "liftoff" was true, at least for my hair. I have sensitive skin as well and did not react to this shampoo. The scent is delicious, it is very reminiscent of a sweet grapefruit. It is not a soft scent like their other shampoo that smells like cake however but I still love it, it's juicy and crisp. One thing to note is I wash my hair every day and if I use any product or leave in conditioners I always double cleanse my hair, so perhaps that is why this shampoo did it's job correctly and didn't weigh my hair down. I'm going to double cleanse any time I use it.

UPDATE: Replacement bottle also arrived damaged with pump broken off. Currently giving a 1-star review just because I couldn’t try it since the bottle arrived with most of the product leaked out into the shipping container. I’ve requested a return/replacement but find it a little inconvenient that I need to take a leaking sticky bottle to UPS to return the damaged product before getting a new one. Will update the review once I get a chance to actually try the shampoo since I’ve heard good things about it from others. It does have a nice smell though!

I wish I could have tried it. I ordered this shampoo twice, once to replace the first because it was leaking all in the prep bag with the lid broken.
