first before you even attempt to make ice with it you need to make a serious effort in cleaning it. way past the level of hand washing, i must have hand washed it 5 or 6 times until the water would reach the bottom from the reservoir at the top ... mosstly clear. it wasnt until i got frustrated and plastic wrapped the vents on the sides of the machine and took it outside and blasted the reservoir with the hose on full blast for a couple mins that i got all the stuff that would wash out that was left inside from production. it was alot. it is a nice little icemaker i have no issue with its performance. but you should be aware of how much heat it puts out while it is running. i was using mine during summertime to cool my drinks but it was making my bedroom (11 x 11 feet) way hotter since it was adding heat to an already hot day. this was obviously my own fault as i should have considered it (im an idiot) but its something you might want to consider. without a/c or alot of space for the heat to dissipate you might run into a similar problem ... show more

While I agree with most of the reviews here, there are some concerns. The biggest one is cleaning. After you are done making ice be sure to drain any excess water. If it sits it will become murky. The water reservior is particularly difficult to clean because its hard to fit you hand in to wipe it down. Both this reservior and the front " ice recieving area" have plenty of sharp or unusual corners that its tough to get to. The manufacturer recommends once a week (!) cleaning which is a huge amount of cleaning compared to any other device you may have on your kitchen countertop. ... show more

I've wanted an ice maker for awhile, and spent months researching and comparing before purchasing the Euhomy ice maker. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase, it does exactly what I wanted it to do. Pros: - Ice cubes. The major thing I wanted in an ice maker is for it to make cubes, not the conical, tubular ice that many ice makers make. This machine makes nice, clear, cubed ice, exactly as I wanted. - Love the water reservoir and the ice basket. Easy to fill the machine and easy to get the prepared ice out of the machine. -Makes a fair amount of ice. A full reservoir will usually fill up two 1-gallon ziploc bags, maybe a little more. That works perfectly for my purposes, but if you need more (or less), that should be a consideration. Neutral- -This machine will not keep ice frozen in the machine. Meaning, you have to transfer the prepared ice to a bag, and put it in your freezer. At this price point, most ice machines are not also ice freezers, but it's a good to call out if that's something you are looking for. Ice left in the machine will melt and the water will return to the reservoir, which is handy. - I don't consider this a 'party ice maker'. It makes enough ice to cool down a few glasses of drinks, maybe even a small ice bucket. But for a party or a beverage tub, I still buy the bags of ice from the grocery store. It would take awhile to make that amount of ice with this machine. -Time. I wouldn't call this machine 'fast' per se. It takes about 15-20 minutes for the first sheet on ice to drop into the ice basket. So it's not 'on-demand' ice. Usually not an issue for me, because I'm storing it up in my freezer. Negatives- -This machine is bulky. It's the size of a large ice cream maker or bread maker. It's too heavy to be something to bring in and out of your cupboards, so I leave it on my countertop. If countertop space is an issue for you, you should really consider if you are willing to be putting this machine away all the time. - Noise. The actual whirring sound while the machine is making ice is not too loud in my opinion. On par with the quieter dishwasher models. However, the ice falls into the bucket with a bang. It doesn't bother me much, but something to think about. All in all, this machine does what I needed it to do, and it does it well. Depending on what you are looking for in an icemaker, it's a very solid option and I'm pleased with my purchase. ... show more
