  • Great cameras
Style: 2 cam pack+solar panel
Picture is very clear, sound quality is good. I love the solar panels they are charging the cameras nicely, they do stop charging right around dusk when the sun isn't as bright. So far so good, they do miss some small things but seems to pick up on most movement and people. Installation was super simple ... show more

  • Great Consumer Level Product!
Style: 2-Cam Kit
I’ve worked in the electronic security field for the past 7 years. I want to start by saying that, because I’ve seen some pretty advanced systems for big businesses, that I won’t mention here for security reasons. That should help validate this review for anyone who’s unsure about this product. Would this work for a multi billion dollar company? No. For your everyday household on the other hand, this product is incredible. No hassle install, loaded with features, and innovative (user friendly) application interface. IR - works beautifully at night. Quality is that of Axis cameras, which one of those cameras goes for about the price of this whole bundle itself in comparison. Video quality - crystal clear, even when streaming and not viewing recorded. Pro tip, if your stream is of bad quality, download a clip to compare. Sometimes it’s network related, and real time video is not a good indicator of how it actually records, because that’s dependent on bandwidth. That said, I haven’t noticed a difference between the two, which is a sign of good bandwidth and quality network hardware on these devices. Motion - I setup a motion mask on all cameras. I want to be notified, but not for cars going by. That said, I’m still tweaking the motion mask. This is the only area that’s given me any trouble, but I think it’s because I’m only allowed to make square shapes. I could be wrong, maybe you can make other shapes. I’ll update if I figure that out (only have created motion masks on mobile app, so need to try web app next to verify). No monthly fees - this is where Eufy has the market in my opinion. Have you ever heard of camera licensing? Well…every major VMS (video management system) company, that is reputable, charges a “license” fee (recurring charge) per camera channel. That adds up over time. The fact this was a one and done payment, and it has all of this functionality, really caught my eye. Now that I’ve tested, and can verify its quality, I’d recommend this system to anyone. Already have recommended it to my fellow security industry colleagues for their own homes. Well done Eufy! Thanks for making a quality product, with no monthly fees! ... show more

  • Disappointed because of some major flaws in this product
Style: 2-Cam Kit
I ordered the Eufy Cam 2C as I was looking for a replacement for my 3 year old Arlo 720P camera set up and Arlo was only offering cameras that worked if you paid for a monthly subscription. The price for this Eufy product was very reduced and very reasonable as Eufy was in the process of replacing it with a Eufy Cam 3C model. I thought paying $179 for a 1080P 2 camera setup that did not require a subscription was a great deal. The pros. This product was easy to set up. You need to download the Eufy Security App to your phone or tablet to set it up. The homebase has to be connected to your router via an ethernet cable for setup. After setup, you can change this to use Wifi but that is only after setup. In the setup the primary option to set up the homebase is to use the Eufy Security app to scan the barcode on the bottom of the homebase. However, several attempts at doing that failed. Fortunately, the Eufy Security app has a readily seen option to enter the homebase ID manually and doing so worked immediately. Synching cameras to the homebase is trivially easy. You just click on "Add Device" in the Eufy Security app and follow the instructions to push the sync button on the camera. The cameras synched flawlessly. The app gives you a lot of help to set up the cameras advising on signal strength between the homebase and the camera. Surprisingly, I had good signal strength almost anywhere I placed the cameras on the house to the homebase which was in an upstairs bedroom. The picture from the Eufy cameras were outstanding compared to my older model Arlo cameras. So far, I was very happy. The cons. My intention was to replace multiple cameras covering the front yard which currently provides multi-angle views of any movement. However, to my horror, I quickly realized that I could not apparently do this with the Eufy system. If one camera detected movement it seemed to lock out any other camera from recording at the same time. I could not get simultaneous recordings of movement from the two cameras. I consulted the internet and others mentioned the same problem with one person showing a text he got from Eufy product support that indicated simultaneous recording is not supported by this system. There is some dispute about this on the internet but simultaneous recording definitely does not work for me and I consider this a serious drawback. More on this later. The other shock I got was that while live views of the camera were fantastic, playbacks of recorded movement were incredibly choppy. The recordings were acting like they were losing a tremendous number of frames. One would see a person move, freeze and then appear 5 feet from where they were in the previous frame. It is genuinely awful. Now I verified it was not a signal strength issue using the strength information provided by the Eufy Security app and even tested the situation where I placed the camera literally right next to the homebase. Result: still awful. I checked that the homebase and cameras were using the latest version of firmware and they were. In the end I did not replace my existing Arlo camera setup which had two cameras covering the front and two cameras covering the back. Instead, I simply added to my setup by adding one Eufy camera to the front and one to the back. Looking at my total needs, this is an improvement. The Eufy cameras in front and back won't be affected by lack of simultaneous recording capability. The Eufy camera detail is far superior to my Arlo cameras if I freeze recordings but the choppiness in the Eufy recordings prevent me from replacing my existing Arlo systems. Now what I did next may make some of you question my judgment. I ordered this product another time. Given the price, I wanted to have backup replacement Eufy cameras in the future if something happened to my existing cameras and secondly I wanted to see if having two homebases would fix my inability to have two Eufy cameras recording the same area simultaneously if i synced the cameras to different homebases. So, I set up a second homebase and synched the new cameras to do that. That was easy to do. I positioned 2 Eufy cameras pointing to the same area but synched to different homebases. To my delight, the two cameras were able to record the same movement simultaneously using this setup. I was going to use this setup to add additional Eufy cameras to the front and back of the house when I found out the freeze frame issue seemed to be even worse with this second system. Decided it was not worth the time and effort to add additional cameras as it would likely be a source of frustration. So I packed up my second order of this product to save as replacements if my existing Eufy cameras develop problems down the road. So while the resolution of these cameras are very good and their individual ability to sense motion is good the fact that you cannot simultaneously record from multiple cameras on the same homebase and even worse recording playback is horribly and frustratingly choppy, in my view, makes purchasing this system questionable. While I was able to get enough value for the price to keep my purchases, I cannot recommend this system to others unless you fully understand the product flaws and agree that you might be able to live with them. Two stars from me. Update 12/17/2022 I don’t know why and through no action on my part, the freeze frame issues I had had with the Eufy cameras have recently disappeared. Right now, there are no frame losses. For that reason, I am changing my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. I will continue to monitor this and report any changes. Update 02/23/2023 Since December, the freeze frame issues I originally had have disappeared through no efforts on my part. Given that, two weeks ago I set up the other two cameras I had purchased to go along with their separate home base to add additional outside coverage. While apparently only one camera at a time can record to a single home base, if I have two cameras covering different angles of my front lawn attached to two different homebases they can record simultaneously. As such, I was able to replace my old Arlo cameras with these Eufy cameras. Given Arlo stopped supporting promised free 7 day video storage, having Eufy systems which can record unlimitedly without a subscription charges was a godsend. So my Arlo systems are now replaced by superior cameras with virtually unlimited free data storage of events. As such, I am now very happy with my Eufy purchases and am changing my rating from 3 to 4. ... show more

  • Great entry level security camera system!
Style: 2-Cam Kit
This system was easy to install and set up. I already had a few devices in the Eufy ecosystem, so adding these was a breeze. I was able to install the cameras in minutes (probably 10-15 minutes each), and after spending a few minutes tweaking the motion detection settings I was up and running. I am pleased with the camera quality and they work well at night and in low light conditions. Viewing the camera feeds with the app is simple and effective. The only unknown right now is battery life for the cameras, so we’ll have to see how that works out. The default configuration is to plug the HomeBase unit directly into your router via Ethernet cable (this is how I did it), but the manual does state that it is possible to connect it using WiFi if desired. This package is built around the HomeBase 2, which is the older version but it does the job. The storage is limited, and not expandable. I could definitely see myself upgrading to HomeBase 3 in the future if I need to increase my digital storage capacity but that is not a high priority for me right now. All in all, I’m very pleased with this and it is working great. ... show more
