  • Amazing wool wash!
TL;DR -- it got these pants clean just by soaking them! Great product & I definitely recommend it. I've gotten a lot of wool clothing over the past year and a half. Eucalan does an excellent job cleaning it, and keeping it soft and odor-resistant. It's easy to use-- add 1 teaspoon per gallon of lukewarm water (I usually use 1 tablespoon in a 3-gallon bucket). Gently squeeze the water through clothing, soak for 15+ minutes (I do half an hour), squeeze out the excess & lay clothes on a drying rack. Happily my washing machine has a "drain & spin" setting, so I use that instead of squeezing out the water by hand. The Eucalan is most effective if you DON'T rinse it out. I slopped a bunch of sludge-water on my pants while cleaning a plaster trap (see photo) but was confident that Eucalan could clean them. I didn't get around to washing them until a day later, but I still didn't bother pre-washing or rinsing out the stain first. I just used twice as much Eucalan, since it says to use more for heavily soiled items, and followed the directions above. The pants came out perfectly clean, just a few little specks left in the stitching which were only noticeable since I was looking closely. Leaves a pleasant, but faint, lavender scent. ... show more

  • Works great for me.
This fabric wash is best suited to washing woolens because it doesn't remove the lanolin oils, thereby keeping woolens soft and preventing stretching. I use this to hand wash lingerie and bathing suits as well as silks. I'm not one to not rinse my items, even though this product says that rinsing is not necessary. I wouldn't want any soap residue left over in the fabric, so I do rinse thoroughly. I like the lavender scent and it does linger for a bit, which is nice. However, I"m not sure this product is worth the price tag. I live in Florida, so I don't wash woolens very often so it really doesn't pay for me to use such an expensive product when Woolite will do. That said, I do like the fragrance and the idea of this fabric wash. It definitely keeps the colors true and fast in the items I've washed in it, which is a good thing. I might repurchase another scent next time, I'm thinking about grapefruit. I haven't washed any woolens in this product as of yet, but I'm saving the rest of it for just that purpose. I do recommend it as a fine fabric wash. The things I've washed in it have come out beautifully. ... show more

  • Knitters, Sewists and dry cleaning avoiders buy this now
If you knit, you already know you need to block. If you sew you know you need to pretreat your fabric and some stuff just can't be thrown into a washing machine. I really care about my clothes, I make most of them and I want them to last. This stuff works on all your fabrics that you are terrified to wash silk, linen and wool, does a great job with stains too. I dislike washing directly in my sink since the water drains out. Get a plastic tub that fits a bunch of documents, fill it up a few inches in the sink and put in a cap full of this stuff and wash a few items. Swish your items around in cold/cool water for 3-5 minutes, agitation, that's what gets stuff clean. Set a timer and actually do it. Let it soak for another 10-15 minutes if you have the time. Sometimes I rinse sometimes I don't. This stuff gets out stains and weird smells from stuff I get at the thrift store. I hand wash a few times a week and a bottle lasts forever. I have hand washed vintage silk dresses with this stuff, even a winter coat. I don't go to the dry cleaner much unless I need a good steam press. Towel dry, or hang it and run a dehumidifier. With all the money you save not paying for dry cleaning or destroying your clothes, buy a really good iron. Then have a moment of silence for all the pretty clothes that you have destroyed using a washing machine or the wrong soap. I prefer the non-scented. The scented stuff really lingers, so if you don't like the way it smells you are going to smell it when you have the garment on. ... show more

  • Wonderful product. Slightly long review ;)
I’m very new to the owning wool products and that being said... This laundry liquid is amazing! I did use a 5 gallon bucket to clean my wool throw. Bigger than a sink and easier to manage. Used only tepid/room temperature water. 3 gallons of water and 3 tsp(teaspoon) of the Eucalan wash. Did a cycle of washing and then emptied out the bucket and rinsed. Rewashed and this time allowed the throw to sit for several hours periodically moving it around i the bucket. Then a Final but gentle rinse as I’m not a fan of any soap being left in or on my product. Squeezed out as much water as I could by hand and then laid on three towels and rolled then stepped on it to remove as much water as possible, repeated this and now it’s laying to finish drying. The blanket feels 100% more soft than I imagined it would. The lavender scent is NOT strong at all. The throw did bleed color out but only slightly on the first wash/rinse and Only because it had never been washed before. I would absolutely recommend this or any of the versions of this wash to anyone wanting to gently wash their woolen items or delicates that aren’t meant for machine wash or are dry clean only. Also you use a tsp of liquid per gallon of water so it’ll last a long while. ... show more
