  • Decent filament for hobbyists

Decent filament at a good price

  • Excellent product and low price
Color: White
I have used many spools of this filament in many colors on my Prusa MK3S+ printer. I have done a lot of strength testing. The color affects layer bond strength but not in line strength. Layer bond strength is typically 35% to 55% of inline strength. The white and black outperform layer bond strength on premium a brand I have tested although these are two of the weaker colors. Fire Engine red is also a weaker color while solid red, natural are two of the strongest colors. I am very satisfied with the performance of this PETG and it has a very attractive price. I haven't experienced any brand that prints better, but at least one the is much worse. This filament is an excellent value. When they switched to cardboard spools I did get one that needed extensive drying but that only happened once. ... show more

  • A very good black PETG and a great price.
Color: Black
The media could not be loaded. This PETG prints extremely well. First layer adhesion is great with a PEI textured plate. I am sure it will work with other plates. The layer lines are almost non-existent and the prints come out smooth and with a sheen to it. The color is just right for what I use it for. I have absolutely no complaints. The rolls are wound neatly and I have not experienced any tangles. I have my own dialed in settings for my printer but the settings they give are pretty close to begin with. A good value for PETG. ... show more

  • Not buying their PETG again
Color: Clear
I was near the end of a previous clear PETG filament and decided to add this eSun clear PETG immediately as the first roll was ending. Fresh out of the package, dropped this in to my dryer and fed the extruder. 1-2 minutes later (using bowden tube) started to hear the familiar crackle/pop as if the new filament is wet. Sure enough you can easily see the layer change (top ~10 layers, after the finally-shiny older filament). I wasn't happy with the previous roll, and I knew it was slightly wet and you can see the difference a several minutes in the dryer did, but it definitely started to look better than this eSun brand. There was no leaks in the bag as it still looked properly tight vacuum sealed and had the desiccant bag in the roll too. Luckily this printed part wasn't very important so not that upset, just expected a quality freshness especially from a sealed bag. I will of course dry it and test more with it, but unlikely to buy this brand PETG again. Their PLA are ok and haven't had issues there. Just FYI, the hot-end setting was 240C and speed was 25mm/s Update: weeks later while being consistently in the dryer, this filament is still making the same crackling/popping sounds and still looks ugly. This room has a dehumidifier set to 30%, the dryer box is set to 50C and shows <25%. I used a separate meter in the box and confirmed it's below 25% moisture. No matter how slow or hot it's printed, does not get any better than the old Elegoo I was using. Maybe you'll have slightly better luck with a heated enclosure. ... show more
