  • Very small amount in the bottle
I like this serum, however, there’s less than 1 oz in the bottle. I will find a comparable product for less money.

  • Great primer for sensitive skin
Estée Lauder was always my skin care go to when I was much younger. I love their products so I was thrilled to try their Futurist Peptide-Power Hydrating Serum Primer. I’ve got to say that I now remember why I liked their product line so much. This is a luxurious, super rich and silky, pearlescent primer that moisturizes and makes your skin brighter with a subtle glow. I love that it can be used every day either alone or under make up. I’ve been using this primer for about two weeks now and I can say that it does a wonderful job of hydrating my skin and enhancing and smoothing the look of my foundation. The hyaluronic acid does slightly plump up the skin and soften the look of the fine lines around my eyes. It’s not a miracle product, but it helps. The bottle is beautiful to look atand easy to hold, but I’m not a huge fan of using a dropper to dispense the primer. I would have much preferred a pump, but it’s not a dealbreaker. It goes on smoothly and absorbs well so you don’t need to use a lot to cover your entire face. I did not have any irritation or skin redness while using this. It doesn’t contain any retinol, so it would be a good alternative for those who are sensitive. I don’t know what the results will be long-term. I’m hoping that with regular use that I will see a better result in the reduction of fine lines. Overall, this is a very high-quality primer from a trusted brand with a price tag that is pretty much in line with similar products. ... show more

  • Good ingredients-mostly
It's been many years since I've used an Estee Lauder product but because I am willing to be wooed back, I went ahead and ordered this Futurist Peptide-Power Serum Primer. The name is a little confusing to me, as normally a primer is the last thing one would put on before makeup... But this is a serum, so I would apply a moisturizer after using it. Confusion aside, I am not confused about other things concerning this product. When I ran the ingredients list through a skin care ingredient program it informed me that this product has 13 ingredients that it labels as "goodies". If you read the listing, it focuses on all the peptides and the sodium hyaluronate, but there are several other ingredients that will also benefit the skin. The serum is thick, not lightweight as it states in the listing. If you put a drop on the back of your hand and turn your hand sideways, it will not run anytime soon. It is milky looking with some luminosity to it (more on that later). There is no added fragrance but the serum does have a very light scent of something similar to aloe. When applied to the skin it absorbed quickly, and didn't leave any residual tackiness. However, if applied a little more liberally it will feel tacky, but even that will absorb eventually. After a few days of using this serum my complexion looks dewier and my skin definitely feels softer. Most of the major benefits of using this serum, like reducing appearance of wrinkles, fading of dark spots and minimizing pores, will not be noticeable for at least 4 weeks. I appreciate the transparency of the brand by putting this statement right in the product listing. There are a couple things with this serum that I have no use for- the luminosity for one. The "pearls" as they are referred to, come from the presence of bismuth oxychloride. This is an ingredient that has been around forever and when added to products it gives a pearl-like finish. Combine this with the mica in the formulation and it will leave a luminous sheen on the skin. Unnecessary but not harmful. The one ingredient that I wish was not in this formulation is PEG-8, AKA polyethylene glycol. It is in there to enhance the texture and improve viscosity. The issue is that during the production process it can become contaminated with ethylene oxide, a known carcinogen, and/or 1,4-dioxane, a suspected carcinogen. I do try to avoid products that use PEGs. Other than the aforementioned ingredient, I like this formulation very much and believe that with continued use one would really see a difference in the condition of their skin. When I ordered this serum it was selling for $47.60. For a product that has 13 "goodies" in it and is a well-known brand, I think that is a very reasonable price. ... show more

  • A 2-in-1 product that saves me time and money (on my HA serum), making this much more affordable.
I've been using this Estee Lauder primer to prepare my skin before applying my makeup on most days; if I'm just running to the gym or errands, I just use the primer itself as it smooths and mattifies my skin enough that I can skip my foundation. Like many primers, you don't need very much of this at all and it glides on like silk. What's very different about this primer is it's also a hyaluronic acid serum - which is very interesting. Hyaluronic Acid is usually a serum of it's own plus can be quite expensive, so the fact that Estee Lauder included it in this primer means I not only save money, as I don't need to buy the serum any longer, but it saves me time since I no longer need to do my nightly HA serum routine. Hyaluronic Acid plumps the skin and helps fill in fine lines and wrinkles; since I already use it regularly, I can't speak about how much this combo plumps (or doesn't). As for the primer aspect, I've noticed since starting use of this primer/serum combo that my makeup stays in place all day and I really don't have any need for touch ups. I also like that this helps keep the foundation from settling into any fine lines. In the end, even though Estee Lauder is a higher priced product, the fact this primer is also a Hyaluronic Acid serum, it balances out the higher cost of this primer over other name brands - and for that reason, I'll continue to buy this and also recommend it to others.🙂 ... show more

  • Thicker than I expected… what is this?
This is a primer but then it’s a serum… it’s thick so likely a primer but it’s a bit silky so you can put something on top like a moisturizer. It doesn’t matify so… how? I’m feeling a bit skeptical to put this on before a true foundation… a skin tint or a moisturizer could be fine but I can already see how this would only work with certain consistencies. Although despite all that, as a skincare item, I do like it. I think it does week and helps for hydration, it does have alot of hydration properties in it. As a two in one, I can’t really say as i feel skeptical using it under makeup. ... show more

  • good for my wife's skin
Tried out this hydrating serum primer, and it's been great for my skin. It has hyaluronic acid and peptides that make my skin feel moisturized and smooth. It goes on nicely under makeup, helping it last longer throughout the day. The texture is lightweight and not greasy. A bit on the pricey side, but a little goes a long way, so it should last a while. ... show more
