  • Love this watch.
Color: Silver Style: PRW-3500T-7CR
These pathfinder watches are the most durable around. I destroy most other watches. This is the third Pathfinder I have owned. The last one started losing pixels after five years. I need reading glasses these days to see fine print. The display is easy to read for basic functions.I cannot read the battery levels without reading glasses. The LCD display can be read easily with polarized sunglasses. A feature not all displays have. The light is not on long enough but it is a cool blueish color. The one light button at the bottom of the is an improvement over the older two buttons. The compass is decent. The solar charger makes for infrequent battery changes in previous versions. I expect at least a couple of years out of this battery. The WWV time correction makes for no adjusting. That is good for us "fall back" procrastinators. Multiple time zone display I can see what time it is UTC. Sailboat racing demands a countdown timer. This watch has one but I would like to have a minute roundup and round down feature on the countdown timer. I like that the countdown timer also displays current time as well as the timer. I see a 1 minute difference in sunrise sunset despite entering the longitude. The buttons were better on the older model. These have just slightly harsher edges. I do not really care for the button guards. It has a titanium band. Oh did I say titanium band. The band is easy to clean. Just take it in the shower and its cleaner than my mouth.I have had resin bands that feel icky and get sweat jelly in adjustment holes. I adjusted the links myself. The pins did try to bolt for freedom and fell out after I re-sized the band. The solution was simple, just take a pair of pliers and bend the pin ever so slightly and those pins are pinned-in semi permanently. Overall this is the best watch I have owned. ... show more

  • 4 years later and still going strong
Color: Green Style: PRW-3510Y-8CR
Bought it exactly 4 years ago (2020) albeit for $160 while on sale. This has been my daily "driver" and I don't baby it (nor abuse it)- swim in the ocean all the time, go hiking, etc. Do rinse it after salt water exposure, but am surprised all the buttons still work and not gotten stuck. Backlight is excellent, display very easy to read in (or out of) the water. Never ran out of battery (solar charging). Barometer/Altimeter and temperature sensors are the main reasons I bought it for all my activities. Only wish it had tide tables, but otherwise this has been the perfect activity watch. Replaced the wrist band recently, other than that it works without issues. Barring some minor scuffing/scratches around the bezel, it even looks good still. Zero scratches on the crystal, probably due to the raised "lip" (crystal being recessed well below the bezel) that takes all the beating. There's occasional fogging of the crystal (due to temperature changes?), but seems to be common with all Casio watches I've owned. Will definitely buy another one (or the upgraded version), especially when it's under $200 again. Was considering upgrading to a quad-sensor Gulfmaster with sapphire crystal (GWNQ1000-1A), but seeing the condition of the used ones on eBay, which all seemed to be severely scratched up, decided to keep using this one till it dies. Seems Casio just hit the jackpot with this ProTrek for quality finishing (ion-plated) vs. a more expensive Gulfmaster that ends up looking like schit... ... show more

  • Reliable and accurate
Color: Silver Style: PRW-3500T-7CR
Bought this 6 months ago, upgrading from a PRW-3000T (which is still running fine after 11 years of daily wear). This watch delivers the reliability, functionality and durability you'd expect from a Pro-Trek, with the lightweight Titanium strap that makes it comfortable to wear. It's a great travelling watch as the world-time mode is very easy to use. What the 3500T adds compared to the 3000T is: - More accurate. When it didn't auto-sync with atomic time (because it was away from a window) it only lost 4-5 seconds per month (compared to 15 secs/month with the 3000T) - More comfortable on the wrist with small curved supports on the base. - Sunrise/sunset times (which is more useful for me than the tidal display on the 3000T). - Sharper look with the improved compass dial. The stopwatch is 1/10sec compared to the 1/100sec of the 3000T. Some notes on using it: - In Washington I need to put it on an East-facing window sill to sync with atomic time. - Don't try and adjust the Titanium strap unless you know what you're doing. It's worth paying a jeweler a few dollars to adjust it properly. Other than that it's hard to go wrong with this watch. It just keeps running. ... show more
