This case has worked well for me - at least for about 2-2.5 years. At about the 2-2.5 year mark, the kickstand really only had 2 positions: fully open or fully closed (it became very loose). So, I think this is reasonable and within the expectations (I think it was 2000) set in the description. I would have liked for it to last longer - but that is reality. What I liked about this stand is that it did allow for multiple positions (at least for the first couple of years), it allowed for wireless recharging (albeit it had to be in just the right position - so it took a bit of adjusting to get it in the right position), and it allowed for enough of a metallic plate to be put underneath to make it work with the magnetic car vent holders. The case also held up well over the 3+ years I have had it - the outside looks almost new. I am considering getting another one - I would like to have all the same features described above but have the kickstand work longer and be a bit more stiff or difficult to move from one position to another and I would like the wireless recharge circle to be a bit larger. So far though, this is about the best I have found. UPDATE: I did get a new one of these to replace my old one. However, once I got the new one, I decided to play around a bit with the old one to see if I could "fix" the kickstand that was very loose (only had 2 positions, fully opened or fully closed). I decided to try and put some superglue in the hinged portion (see picture0 of the kickstand. After doing this a few times (drying and exercising the hinge in-between), I was able to get the hinge to work much like it did when it was new. UPDATE: ESR’s customer service took it upon themselves to reach out to me after I left this review, with troubleshooting tips regarding the charging issue (they said to make sure the metal on the case wasn’t touching the charger as that can interfere), and offering a full refund or replacement, at my option and without requesting that I return the original case I received. What’s more impressive is that they tried twice — their first email got snagged by my spam filter and they sent a follow up message since I didn’t respond to the first one. If you’re having issues with the charger, try adjusting how it’s lying on your charger. I hadn’t intended to return this, because it’s not a bad case, even though it didn’t quite meet my expectations; it does provide protection with a precise fit on the phone, and the kickstand works very well in landscape/horizontal orientation. The proactive and excellent customer service warrants adding another star, since it’s a risk free purchase, and the case may well be perfect for your usage and charging habits. Thus, I’ve changed my rating for this product. This looks nice and feels like it will protect the phone reasonably well. It’s got a good texture to help the phone not feel slippery. But the kickstand doesn’t work in portrait orientation, and adds enough thickness to the rest of the case that it won’t charge wirelessly on my charger that is big and flat. I think it would probably be ok if your charger is one of the small ones that you balance your phone on where it only covers the middle of the phone, but mine is a large flat space (just a bit bigger than this phone) and it props it up enough not to work. I’m not annoyed enough by these issues to return it, but I definitely won’t buy this case again when it starts yellowing, etc., because those two points were specifically why I chose this case over other similar cases. If the kickstand worked in both orientations I think I’d be able to make my peace with the charging issue, but not having that will make it harder for me to FaceTime with people while keeping my hands free to type or otherwise work with my hands, which I need to do often. ... show more
