This corner chisel works well and does exactly what it is intended to do (make round corners square). It is easy to use and makes a perfect square corner. It’s probably not as useful to experienced carpenters as it would be for DIYers or novice woodworkers. I am 52 years old carpenter and use chisels frequently but I gave this little tool a shot and for it’s price and size I’m happy with it.

This little corner chisel does cut 90° corners as claimed. Its a bit weird striking a spring-loaded chisel, but I imagine you get used to it. Its reasonably comfortable in hand. Its pretty simple to use provided you have 2 reference edges that are perpendicular to each other. So you need to have already cleaned our everything except the corners if you want to use this as intended. Otherwise, it can be used on a flat plane as shown in my photos, but they there's no real benefit to using this over a fixed shaft corner chisel. It seems to offer fairly limited functionality in my assessment, but maybe its intended to be a specialty/niche tool. The build quality is good. The anodized aluminum frame is robust. The cuts are fairly sharp out of the box. Hopefully it can be disassembled to sharpen cutters down the line, but I did not evaluate that yet. For those in need, it seems like a decent value at $20.

I used this to mortise out a catch plate on a door frame. The older one I was replacing was smaller with rounded corners. Using a utility knife to score the cuts and a chisel to remove much of the material. I then used this tool to cut the corners. It was fairly easy to use. If I had been working with a flat surface, not an existing mortise, I think it would have been easier to use as it has a guide that didn't really fit well in the existing gap. That said, I got it to work and the results were excellent. The tool came sharp and easy to operate. I'm very happy with this and expect to get a lot of use out of it.

I've always been the kind to dismiss something like this, because why get another tool banging around when a chisel will work perfectly fine? Well, I'm impressed by this and it does work well. While I won't completely stop reaching for a chisel, it's good to know that it functions and will be a viable tool to use when I need it. It's sharp, cuts clean, and the handle feels well made. The best thing about it is the speed and consistency.

While I have long been using a router to route out door hinge mortises, I've always just used a hand chisel to square up the corners on the hinge pockets. It's not a big deal, but when I saw this corner chisel, I knew I needed to up my game and speed the process. This O'SKOOL corner chisel is very nicely machined and finished with no sharp edges (other than the chisel, which you definitely want to be sharp!), burrs or defects. It operates smoothly and feels sturdy and solid. Is this an absolute necessity? No, but it does make quick work of squaring up routed mortises. By my measurements, the chisel will extend down out of the tool by as much as 5/8", which should suffice for all but the deepest of mortises.

I do not do a whole lot of work that requires use of chisels, but I do a lot of smart home installations and smart locks and all are part of it. I frequently have to notch out new sections for the hardware or either modified the existing sections. Before this too I was using a regular DeWalt chisel, And I'm definitely not a Master Carpenter because it never usually looked or turned out that great. Now with this little tool I can knock it out perfect every time. It's very sharp and there's no play in the blade. Where you have it lined up is where you're going to notch it out at, so it's very accurate. I didn't even know these existed until I saw this one. Wish I had had it years ago. It's well built and you can definitely tell just looking at it and feeling it in your hand. The first time you use it you'll stop trying to use regular chisels to do corners. Price is actually lower than I thought would be for a tool this well made and designed
