Terrific cell phone car mount with excellent build quality and a nice strong magnet. The dashboard of my car has a small lip over the lcd screen, so I unscrewed the mounting arm from the base, reversed it, and attached the base to the underneath side of the dash. It fits perfect, can fold away, and holds the phone securely. Finally, I think the price is excellent, over the years I have definitely paid more for products far inferior to this one.     • Easy Installation/ Strong Magnets

I don’t own a Tesla or a car with a tablet style infotainment system. I installed mine on a 2017 Subaru Impreza, which has a dashboard above the infotainment screen. I chose ESR because the price was surprisingly cheap, the design is super clean, and it was not a vent mount. I specifically bought a mount only (non-charging) because my CarPlay is wired. The installation was straightforward and simple. I probably didn’t need the installation video, but watched it anyways for any tips I should know about the product. Lucky thing I did, you need to wait 2 hours after installing for the adhesive to set although the mount seemed pretty stable immediately. Prior to this MagSafe mount, I had a Belkin MagSafe Vent Mount Pro ($39.99) but it rattled so much on my vertical vent that I had to take it back to the Apple Store. Another fatal flaw with the Belkin was that the magnet was so sadly weak and my phone would fly off when I hit a pot hole, and I would have to take off my MagSafe wallet every time I used it. I was pleasantly surprised with ESR’s magnet, which was strong enough to hold my phone WITH THE MOFT WALLET I LOVE SO MUCH! This is a such a game changer! I didn’t even realize how much constantly taking off the wallet bothered me until I no longer had to. That alone is deserving of 5 stars IMHO, but I did take one star off because ESR requires a review to extend the warranty from 12 months to 24 months, on top of registering your product. Also, because I just received the product today and can’t speak for the longevity of the product. But I have to say, I do love it so far! ... show more

For roughly $20-25, this far exceeds expectations. The hung is all metal with a nice grey surface coating. Using the halo lock also by ESR, the hold I got on the mount was seriously impressive. I finally have an iphone with the ability to use Mag safe attachments and this car mount is as strong as you would ever want. I even make sure to hold it when pulling off the phone, worried about it dislodging the stuck on part on the back of the nav monitor. You can move it up and down and sideways super easily and it articulates forward and backward. I generally leave my phone in the vertical position when using WAZE etc as the app just looks better vertical. The ESR Dashboard Magnetic Car Mount allows you to pivot it forward far enough the phone can be in front of the monitor, overhanging, on top of it or behind it. Quality and half as expensive as another one the grabbed the side of the phone and didn't work as well, nor hide away. ... show more
