    • It never worked
I was excited to receive this espresso machine as a gift. The machine is very nice looking, it is sturdy, and it does seem to be made of good quality materials. As soon as I opened the box, I set the machine to make my first expresso. I filled the water reservoir, installed the filter basket and turned it on. The machine did turn on and I could hear a pump? working. However, the water from the reservoir never made it to the heater so there was no water coming out of the filter basket. I checked the filter to make sure there was nothing plugging it, and even tried to use the machine without a filter but still no water was coming out of it. I watched a few videos on why this was happening. Some talked about "priming the system" using a plastic cover to force water from the reservoir so that the pump was primed. I did not try any of those things because #1, since there was no water going to the heating element, the top of the machine was getting extremely hot, #2, I did not want to lose the opportunity to return the machine. I requested an exchange from the seller because I do like the machine. Like I said, it is a very nice looking machine, however, the machine was out of stock, so I did receive a refund with no problem. ... show more

    • Awesome budget Espresso maker!
*Edit after 6 months* It is leaking water from the gasket housing and not the gasket itself, so I don't think there is anything wrong with the silicone gasket ring. I've emailed Brewsly about repair or warranty, but not getting any replies. I can't recommend a product with a short life, so I'm using this review. I'm going to spend the extra money on a nicer machine from a reputable manufacturer. *Original review* I was skeptical as it seems many of the higher rated consumer machines are $300 or more. I took a chance on this machine for the sub $100 deal cost. I'm very pleasantly surprised by how well its doing. I think, reading some of the reviews, people need to be aware of some things. I'll list some of them below and numbered on this review. The auto frother wand included does an 'ok' job. However, you can really step up the frothing game in both consistency and flavor with the Pannarello Latte Art wand. I just installed mine so I can assure you it will fit no problem. Not only will it make the milk silky smooth + taste better, but it will also be WAY EASIER to clean. This ran me about $14, and was very simple to swap out. Tips to avoid breaking this machine: 1. DO NOT compact the coffee too hard. If you have a nice heavy tamper, basically just let its own weight press it down. Otherwise, press hard enough to make the ground coffee flattened. 2. Take your time inserting the Portafilter. Its not 'easy' to move around, but you shouldn't need to muscle it either. 3. ALWAYS clear the steam wand BEFORE you put it in the milk. When you clear it (which is just running it on steam for 15-20 seconds), it will spit out water, steam a little bit, then essentially ramp up (full on stop) for just steam. When it gets to the ramp up stage, you can then put your milk in there. I have 2 froth pitches, one of which just is used for the clearing part. After froth, I take this same one to clear out the wand again with just the steam for a few seconds. If you do not do this step, I'd gather you are getting quite a bit of water in the milk, which likely results in poor froth and flavor. I think those first 2 tips likely will have saved many people from broken parts or issues. I love the way this Espresso machine looks, and time will tell how durable it is. The warming tray on the top is barely warm, so I wouldn't count on that doing a whole lot. Tips for good latte art: Replace the stock froth wand (biggest difference) with this one: Pannarello : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M5PE62Q Use a Latte mug, as this has more width to it. Makes it a bit easier to mix things around for the pour. Watch YouTube video's for tips/tricks. With the Pannarello wand upgrade, things will look a lot more like the video's vs the stock wand. The stock wand you likely won't even see the milk swirling, and I did not when I used it the first week. ... show more

    • Great coffee, hard to steam and now leaks
The media could not be loaded. I have had this matching since the end of January. Coffee tastes great but it has recently started leaking water from around the area where the funnel attaches. The funnel is fully attached and in place. There doesn’t seem to be any cracks in that area. Very annoying, I have to put something under the dripping so the water doesn’t weaken my coffee. Anyone else have this problem. Also, the frother never did that great and the top where it is supposed to keep the cup warm has never worked. Any suggestions would be appreciated. ... show more

    • A very good machine for a small household
I have had this espresso machine for only a few weeks, so I cannot speak to its long-term durability. However, I have really enjoyed using it and drinking the coffee it makes. The espresso is quite tasty, and each cup has a nice layer of coffee foam (crema). The machine has 1-shot and two-shot options and is suitable for regular use for one or two-person households. You could certainly serve espresso to a larger party, but it would be too time-consuming to do on a regular basis. The documentation is necessary to get the machine up and running, but it was clearly written by someone who is not a native English speaker. This didn't prevent me from setting up the machine, but the features are not well-described. ... show more

This machine looks great and works OK once I got used to waiting for the heating up process for the coffee and steam. I guess I was used to the simplier operation of my previous Krup and Mister Coffee machines. Even though I'm going to keep it, I wouldn't have bought it if I had known of it's more complicated operation before hand. ... show more

    • Great little machine!
This machine makes a lovely espresso. It's easy to use, reliable, and looks nice on my coffee bar. I've had a bit of experience as a barista and have made my share of fancy coffee drinks. I am used to a big machine where I have control over a lot more, but it's honestly really nice to push a button and have a really good cup of espresso appear.
