  • Perhaps the best matte filament in Eryone's range
Color: C-navy Blue
The media could not be loaded. So I have tested the Matte Green PLA from Eryone for about 2.5 weeks at this point, and as a result of that testing, I have ordered three additional rolls. I'm in the process of printing a large amount of TTRPG terrain in a forest theme, so this color and texture works wonderfully for that purpose. I think the Matte Green, despite perhaps being a more 'earthy' color, might be the best matte PLA in Eryone's range of matte filament. The texture matches the color, if that makes sense, and the overall smoothness of this filament, when extruded, exceeds that of the other colors (in my opinion). If I had to mention a negative, it would be that (like all matte filaments) this plastic was fairly brittle and 'dry' feeling. As a result, you have to be careful when loading the filament or messing with it - as it is easy to break if you're doing anything at an angle to it with any force. Highly recommended if you have any earth-themed projects to print. Expect buttery soft texture and even extrusion. No issues with bed adhesion at all. My settings: First layer - 230c Rest of print - 211-213c (depending on project) ... show more

  • Very nice matte appearance/texture, and good quality prints
The media could not be loaded. This is the first matte PLA I've printed with, and I was unsure exactly how it would differ from "traditional" PLA that I've printed with before as I would not exactly call my previous prints glossy. This material does have an even lower sheen however and results in a softer feel. One nice side-effect of this is that the subtle ghosting that can be highlighted in other prints by reflections virtually disappears with this matte material. I've included photos of my calibration prints (temperature, retraction distance, and retraction speed.) I've also included a timelapse/photos of the obligatory 3D Benchy print (actually my first!) In my tests I found a nozzle temp of 195 to be optimal, with a retraction distance of 4mm and speed of 20 mm/s. These were all printed on a slightly modified Eryone Thinker S - only noteworthy changes are the part fan duct and BLTouch. My only potential concern would be that it seems that the self-adhesion isn't as good as traditional PLA. I say self-adhesion rather than layer adhesion because I didn't notice any separation between layers but I did notice my brims coming apart in multiple pieces (this can be seen a bit in brim at the bow of the benchy), which doesn't typically happen. So adjacent lines of the same layer don't seem to adhere as well as traditional PLA, but this only really seemed to affect my brims which are discarded anyway. Not necessarily an issue, just an observation. Overall I really like this material and I'm excited to use it for some future projects! ... show more

  • The only PLA I've thrown away.
Color: E-dew White
I usually am super easy to please with PLA, however, this filament is brittle, chalky, and flexible. Three of the door prints broke upon lifting from the tray. The last one, as pictured, ripped apart, leaving half of it on the tray. I could crush these printings in my hand. I printed the same stuff with two other PLAs, I couldn't break the others (XYZ and Matter Hacker PLAs). ... show more

  • Not an everyday material
Color: A-black
The end result is what it says, it is a matte finish. I would firmly put it in the category of a specialty material, where the matte finish is particularly desired and not for everyday use. A few problems I had with this product: 1. It stuck like glue to my steel plate, same layer height I have been using great with several others. -- Also the biggest reason I'm probably unlike to use it again 2. As with other reviews, its super brittle and the prints will break more easily that "normal" PLA. Another reason why I would put it into the category of a specialty material. Small parts tended to break easily. 3. Shipping was very slow in comparison to other brands, you're not going to get it in a hurry. 4. For some reason my order was not covered by Amazon's A-Z Guarantee, otherwise I'd return it. Overall, I'm unlikely to print with this again, there are other similar products that work so much better. ... show more

  • a silk dress running, like a watercolor in the rain ...
Color: K-mint Green
I am a new 3D printing hobbyist, having started in June 2021. So keep that in mind as I make my observations. I have about 50 rolls of filament of which half are Eryone. Eryone Matte Mint Green is a simple, luscious, and understated PLA filament. I am very impressed with this easy to print filament and the color is fantastic. Photos don't really do it justice. Filament was vacuumed sealed in a non-reusable bag and the filament winding was acceptable. There is no odor to this filament. Feeds nicely with no jamming or clogging. No popping heard while printing. Printers: Eryone ER-20 with Biqu H2 direct extruder/hotend and stock Fokoos Odin5 F3; still dialing in both printers All prints sliced in Cura 4.13 MatterHackers' Astronaut Phil A. Ment printed at 200 deg F nozzle, 65 deg F bed. 0.15mm height, 0.4mm nozzle; 40mm/s print speed with 20mm/s outer wall, lightning infill, no supports, 3 walls; fan set to 100% (Matte Mint and White Silk printed on ER-20, and Turquoise Rock PLA printed on Fokoos Odin5 F3...white silk is old filament and was not performing well, but is included to compare colors) Gayer Anderson Egyptian Cat Low Poly printed at 200 deg F nozzle, 65 deg F bed. 0.15mm height, 0.4mm nozzle; 40mm/s print speed with 20mm/s outer wall, lightning infill, 3 walls; fan set to 100% Standard temp tower; all temps printed well. Filament appears to need good cooling fan and check retraction settings to minimize stringing. Part of me wants to save it for a "special occasion" but it prints so nicely and the color is so attractive, I am actively looking for things to print. Definitely give this Eryone matte filament a try! ... show more
