  • These did what I needed
Color: Extra (40-95)
I'm not the brightest bulb in the works but I thought these would help me with buzzing frets because the bass strings that came with the bass were "tight" enough to scare me when they were universally tuned to E-A-D-G along with a buzz at the higher frets. NOW my Jazz Bass sings beautifully with the looser and lower gauge. No more "buzzing" on the high frets. • Seinfeld sux
Color: Hybrid (45-105)
Don't get these unless you like the Seinfeld Bass guitar intro song. I hate it, and I also hate the tone these strings make.

  • Not the best, but not the worst.
Color: Super (45-100)
The stainless steel super slinky bass strings from Ernie Ball aren't terrible, but they aren't great either. D and G sound pretty good, but E and A is flat and lacks that punch you get from nickel or even cobalt strings. Still, they sound better than flatwounds. I'll be removing them from my bass and restring it with some nickel super slinkys. I'm glad I tried them, though. I have been curious what ss strings would sound like on my bass and now I know. ... show more

  • What the Bassist Needed
Color: Super (45-100)
Honey asked me to picked these up as he’s a bassist and likes these particular strings. They came on time, no issues. Plans to order more.

  • Only strings I use
Color: Hybrid (45-105)
Great strings. I use these on my Getty Lee Fender Jazz Bass, Wal MK-ll and on my 5 string Ibanez SR-450. I’m running on a Mesa Boogie Buster Bass 200 on 2x15s thru a couple rack effects for a personalized tone. I typically like to run a powerful mid sound that growls and these steel strings are PERFECT.! Clear punchy tone and harmonics that ring for days. I honestly no longer use any other strings. I do wish there was a 5th string option for my 5 string bass but I probably wouldn’t use the 5th string anyways, it’s just my bass looks silly w/out that 5th string. My personal favorite strings. • Good strings
Color: Hybrid (45-105)
Anybody with enough experience knows there really isn't that much difference from brand to brand regarding guitar strings. Just pay attention to the gauge you like, and the metal they're made of. That's where the difference lies. Ernie Ball provides stainless steel (good twang) at a decent price.

  • great balanced tone
Color: Extra (40-95)
buying a new bass usualy comes with crappy strings thats needing replacing. I replaced the muddy garbled sounding string with these and now have a much smoother balanced sound. the strings dont make that zipping noises as loud due to a smaller wound string, or finer closer together wind.... these seem good and shoucd last a while and are US made. They should last a while.... ... show more
