The Ergodyne ProFlex 100 Economy Spandex Back Support is designed to remind workers of proper lifting techniques while also enhancing the body's intra-abdominal pressure, moving the stress away from the spine for back pain relief. Features rubber track webbing to help keep support in position. SIZING To choose your size, use flexible measuring tape and find the circumference around your body at your belly button. The support should fit snugly around your hips with the front of the support two-fingers width below your navel. An easy-to-use hook & loop closure keeps the belt securely fastened while in use and can be worn over or underneath clothing. Adjust the suspenders straps to fit securely on your shoulders without causing tension. Turn it into a back support belt by simply detaching the shoulder straps from the belt. HOW IT WORKS Ergodyne ProFlex Back Supports provide lower back support and abdominal support for lifting heavy objects. Tightening the back support belt enhances the body’s intra-abdominal pressure and moves the stress away from the spine. When the back support is on correctly, the worker will have additional support for lifting and is more likely to use proper posture. When not lifting, be sure to loosen the belt. This is great, so comfortable and you can sit very well in it. I would like to say a big thankyou to the community who helped me to decide on the size. I am 5' 4" my hips are 40" (little bit of a stomache) my waist is 33". I bought a size large and it is perfect. I hope this helps someone else who is not sure about the size. When I tool it out of the wrapper I though it looked enourmous ! No way, when you have it on it ' covers in all the right places. I did take the straps off ( maybe in the winter) it is so hoy right now, but it's good to have them and they are velcro on and off. The passing years combined with a desk job have conspired against my back when doing any significant physical labor, even though I get a decent amount of exercise, primarily cycling. I replaced the carpet in a large closet with engineered vinyl plank flooring and suffered for a few days afterward with back pain. When it came time to do the same in my office and bedroom, I thought I would try a back support. I never really understood how they work and was skeptical, but for the price, it was worth trying one. I picked this one out somewhat at random and was completely amazed at how well it worked. I did both rooms and had little or no back pain during the process. Now I try to use it whenever I know I am going to be doing any lifting of heavy boxes or furniture, and even when I'm working for an extended time in my garage on whatever project. I recently packed, loaded, unloaded, and unpacked my entire house for a move mostly by myself (not something I would recommend, by the way), and while I can't say I had no back pain throughout the process, I'm pretty confident that I would not have been able to do it without the back support.     • I Do Heavy Lifting for Work

I do a job where heavy lifting is occasionally required. (Heavy being a relative term. In the neighborhood of 50 lbs., but large items.) From previous experience, I know it was easy to strain a muscle or throw out your back lifting the items we use so I wear a back support whenever I need to lift anything heavy. This is actually the third support brace I've gotten over the years. but it's also, in my opinion, the best. I love the larger support area the brace gives, and the adjustable side straps are a must. Hopefully I don't need it much, especially in the winter months where I'll have multiple layers of clothes, but I like that I do have it. ... show more

I really do like this strap. I only use it for lifting dumbbells and have had it just a little over a year. It should not be busting out the seem for only weight lifting on a bench and should be lasting more than a year. Would love a replacement but probably past a warranty! That is the only downside of this but other than that I have recommended to all my lifting buddies and United Van Lines workers as I use to be a mover. May have to rethink about word of mouth now.
