I was looking to buy a squat rack smith and realize that it cost almost the same as buying this machine, which included pull cables. I got this one, no brainer there Assembly took little more than 3 hrs with my wife's help (she held the instructions and looked for the needed parts, saved a lot of time). Watching the assembly video in the product listing is way easier than reading from the paper manual. The machine is sturdy but since there is nothing holding the upper structure, it will wobble a little if you put enough weight on the bar. This bothered me because over time this wobble may damage the equipment. So I built 2 brackets and bolt them to the wall (pics attached). Materials cost me around $50 at H Depot. Now the machine is solid and secured. Make sure you buy lubricant for the vertical bars. Do not use WD40. I recommend Synco Lube Synthetic Grease, you can get it in Amazon for $8 Over all, very happy with the equipment. ... show more

Overall, this is a very good value for the price. If you are in the market for a smith, definitely consider this one. I've been lifting for 20 years. I've had the power racks and heard all the one liners about smiths.. After 2 surgeries and severe arthritis, a smith was the best option. This one included all the features I wanted at the best price, period. -Its rated to hold 450+ on the smith bar and pulley system. - Its rated to 300 on the external catches. - The pulley action is smooth (and quiet) - Smith bar is, or is close to 45 lbs. I wanted a machine without the peg and bolt smith catches- i had one and the pegs tended to bow with heavier loads. The numbers being laser cut into the frame is a big plus too. Overall, I'm quite pleased with it. The welds all looked perfect and it was well packaged. All hardware was there and even a spare parts bag. At the price point, its a solid machine to consider. Even has linear bearings- for less than 1k.. Good deal. It will shimmy slightly when loaded, but I expected that from other reviews. Same as any I've used that aren't Cybex, or Hammer. Assembly is straightforward and easy. * i ordered the smith without the bench. For this product it will be 4 boxes.* Happy lifting and best of luck with your purchase. Update: after using it for a bit, I like it even more. I did make minor adjustments to the cable for tension purposes. This machine provides good depth and essentially having the smith bar in the middle means plenty of room if doing smith squats ,calf raises etc. Having the cables attached on the front of the cage is super convenient too. They can be used in unison or singularly. Either way its smooth. The flexibility offered with top to bottom adjustment is perfect for any exercise, no matter your stature. Great product with versatile usage, my only issue is with the assembling. The instruction manual is like an ikea manual, all pictures no descriptions. 2 things to note during assembly, all the guide rods must be lifted in order to be screwed on top. For the screws/nuts provided, the screws I got were too long and the nuts provided don't screw all the way through. You might need to get additional nuts/washer to keep the frame secure and stable if that is the case. ... show more

I gave 5 stars because it could be great once I fix it, it could be great, and being a Chinese product what can you expect? Good thing we have a welding machine.. got as far as step one and a weld busted while I was tightening bolts. Took it out to the garage had to grind it down so it won’t have the paint on that area but not a big deal since it’s indoors, welded it back together.. not a big deal for me still could be a great machine, but definitely was not expecting to have to weld a product that should only need some bolts threw on it.. also I actually sell nuts bolts and fasteners for a living and this is the lowest grade. 4.8 is about a grade 2 equivalent.. if you’re not impatient like me I would definitely buy a 10.9 bolts but who knows maybe they will hold up.. Also if you do have to weld this stuff is super thin! ... show more

Overall happy with purchase. Everything arrived well packaged and was easy to assemble. The steel used for the structure is the thinnest possible steel hence the price of the unit. Fully assembled its not going to be as sturdy as a rogue or other premium rack, but good enough. I would recommend this product to most people. If you are a serious powerlifter or regularly do exercises with over 300 pounds I would probably look elsewhere. ... show more

I gave 4 stars because overall this a very well designed and built product. There was nothing to complain about to be honest. However, shipping was horrible. I can not blame ER Kang for that. I blame Fedex. Also, I will add that the directions reminded me of a high school metal shop class where you receive the exploded view picture for every step of the way. Still, put those 2 things aside and I have no complaints against ER Kang. They delivered on a very well packed product with every single bag and part clearly numbered.
