This compact wireless printer makes it easy to print beautiful 4" X 6" And 5" X 7" Photos that will last up to 200 years this Epson printer is designed for use with only genuine Epson-brand cartridges. Other brands of ink cartridges and ink supplies are not compatible and, even if described as Compatible, may not function properly or at all. Epson provides information about the design of the printer on the box and in many other locations and materials Included with the printer and on the website. epson periodically provides firmware updates to address issues of security, performance, minor bug fixes and ensure the printer functions as designed. This printer was designed to work only with genuine Epson ink cartridges and some updates may affect the functionality of third party ink. I was looking for a home printer that prints 4x6 prints so I don't have to squint at tiny photos of my son in albums (that I will eventually compile, I know, bad millenial mom) AND frame some of those awesome photos. I had an LG pocket photo printer, though worked well, was kinda pricey in terms of paper and definitely printed SMALL photos for my 34-year old ageing eyes. Yes, I wear glasses. Those tiny photos are good enough for tacking on to your office cubicle, but not really good for framing for the living room. The quality is also so-so. If you like Instagram filters, yes. But now that I'm trying to be more adult and responsible, I have outgrown its purpose. So, I went on a hunt for a home printer that prints photos wirelessly from phones, that can print beyond credit card sized momentos (very specific). I do own an HP office printer. It is 5 years old and still works well. I do not want to bankrupt myself printing photos of my son through said printer, even with their ink subscription. Their app also don't work well with the phone. And because of how horrible printers are, I do not want to mess with buying another home office printer until mine dies. It's like rolling the dice, you won't know if the next one will be a bust. I focused my search on photo printers and narrowed it down to the Selphy and this gem. I can't believe that at 2022, when humans have made rovers to get to Mars, and made mRNA vaccines to fight a pandemic... we only have 2 sad options for this particular niche. What I didn't like about the Selphy was it wasn't true 4x6 in size. I did not want to have any cropping errors or specific albums/frames not fitting the photos. Mostly, I didn't like the picture quality. I have seen how the Selphy performs since it's the most common printer used in wedding picture booths in my home country. Though good enough, it's not a vibrant and realistic as it should be. I also don't like the sides of the photos having "tear" uneven ends. Enter this printer. Holy crap. My phone photos look so realistic. Coming from a simple Google Pixel 5a, unedited photos (apart from those edits the default Camera algorithm applied to balance exposure, etc) look NICE. Skin looks real. I WANT to frame the photos, which is what my goal was. Setup was a breeze. Just remove all the plastic you see. Pop the ink in. Type your wifi info on the printer (OMG it worked on 1 try!). Install the app on your phone... and Viola! You are printing your photos. From my phone, I can easily click "Share" to the app and do different layouts if I want to collage, or just print as is. It literally does all I want. And I can't believe this printer is so OLD, and no one has updated this thing. The app has been updated yes, but the hardware of this printer remains the same. Printers are lagging in innovation, but I guess this Epson doesn't need much improvement if it does what it needs to do. The ink and paper are affordable too. No more using "I have to go to CVS to pick up prints, UGH" as an excuse to procrastinate on printing photos of my son. I am now a TRUE mother.     • Easy to print photos at home as needed
As a scrapbooker I love being able to print the photos as needed and in the sizes I prefer. The app is pretty easy to use; the only thing I would change is if the app told the actual size of the photos in the collage setting. For example printing 2 square photos on a 4x6 paper I would expect them to be 3" x 3" but they are not. probably not an issue for most people but for me I have to do a test print and measure them because the size changes if I use a border or switch to 5x7. I would like to be able to choose the actual size before printing. I need to use a different app to lay out the page and then import it to print. ... show more

I had tried another photo printer, but after trying TWO machines I followed the reviews and tried this one. OMG, the print quality is 100 times better. The photos come out quick & beautifully.     • Works easily and well
Very easy to set up and print with. The prints look good, even compared to my larger fancier photo printer. I wanted to be able to quickly print test prints and to not wait until I was ready to print and cut up a bunch of photos printed on 13x19 paper. I've used it directly from Lightroom via WiFi and via SD card. It's small, will print soon after powering on. I hope it holds up well in the long run. I haven't tested photos from this printer against final prints from my pro lab, but I will be shortly. It is perfect for how I'm using it and I can see many other ways it could be used if I needed to print small prints at an event, or for a client. As a photographer I find it helpful to print frequently to sort, sequence, and compare photos, and get a better sense of their final look (print) and looking at them printed gives me ideas about cropping and color adjustments, vs working solely from a screen. Would be a great home photo printer for anyone wanting to churn out small prints, or for a photographer providing drafts and proofs to clients ... show more

    • The perfect machine for home photo lab
My wife has built photo books for each of my Granddaughters for the last 16 years. She prints the years photos, and then makes a movie using a movie app. She has worn out a couple of printers, Epson earlier versions. The amazing photo quality of these printers makes it possible to do her remarkable work, a WORK OF PURE LOVE FOR OUR GRANDDAUGHTERS. This particular printer was bought as a gift for the Granddaughter, so that she can now start building her own life book. I highly recommend this printer for its extreme high quality and convenience. We also bought a second printer for my wife, to make sure her printer is available in case something happens to her primary printer. THESE PRINTERS BEAT ANY OTHER printer available! I bought this thinking it would be just ok, but I was very impressed with the ease to set up and the quality of the photos. Wow! Very vibrant colors.
