I now own three Epicurean cutting boards in different sizes and they all get used regularly. These are great cutting boards—I no longer worry about wood splitting or drying out. Yes, these are a bit more expensive than other boards, but in my opinion worth the investment.

Beautiful board with inlay on one side for collecting juices and flat surface on other side. It can be dishwasher because it not made of wood, but it can be trusted because it’s made in USA and not China.

The cutting board is very well made and the size is perfect(14.5-Inch by 11.25-Inch). It was shipped out in a timely fashion and arrived on time. I thought it was misdelivered but had forgotten that I had grabbed the package, set it aside where it got covered up, and found it a couple of weeks later. When I first contacted their customer service to complain about it not being delivered, I was treated respectfully and professionally and they promptly started the paperwork for a delivery investigation with the USPS. I bought this to replace a hard maple board that was finally coming apart after thirty years of use - not to mention bleaching and scrubbing between uses. Though I don't think anything beats the aesthetics of wood (and I'll keep using wood boards for bread, etc), I wanted an easily sanitized, non-porous surface for meats and such. Hard cutting surfaces like slate or marble would bring an early end to my good knives so they're out. Some plastic "boards" are knife-safe and easily cleaned, but they look, well, like plastic. This board seems to be a good alternative. You won't mistake it for slate or wood but it's much nicer that polyethylene. It's light weight compared to maple and the flat black surface hides the knife marks well. It won't outlast a good maple board, but I mostly wanted something that was not ugly, knife friendly, and easy to clean. This board seems to fill the bill. ... show more
