  • You Need This Pump
Color: Blue
Item arrived just as described and performs even better. I never leave the house without it. The unit is lightweight, easy to operate, quiet (compared to others) and great value for your money. You can also preset the required tire pressure as to avoid over pumping. It shuts off automatically. Plus it comes with a neat pouch. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Must have for vehicles
Color: Blue
The price on this was reasonable. The small compact design means it doesn't take up much room at all in your vehicle be it a small car or large SUV. Got tired of the free air pump being out of order and bought this. Thought I might use it once a year. I've used about a few times a year (2-4 times). The cord length allows you to use this on all four tires with slack. Just open your door and run to the tires. Unlike most air pumps at the gas stations, this threads onto your tire. Simply thread it on just like you would for the tire stem caps, and push the button. It has programmed PSI and will shut it self off. When putting it on the tire stem and off you lose very little air. The unit is quick enough. It is compact air compressor and slows down the closer you get to the programmed PSI. As you thread it on and push the button you don't have to be at squatted down or bent over. Just sit the unit on the ground or on top the tire and let it go. I've had people use it on their heavy duty trucks, our SUVs, and even a hitched trailor for the lawn care professionals. The unit will get hot; use the handle. Cords and air tube store easy enough. Never needed the flash light, but it seems plenty bright enough. Not too noisy. A must have for teeangers as well as more experienced drivers. Piece of mind for road security. Would highly recommend investing in this unit. One of my better and smarter purchases. ... show more

  • Great comfort for our next trip in the mountains
Color: Blue
We went on a small get-away this fall in the West Virginia mountains. Things there are located FAR apart, including gas stations so when the tire light came on we struggled to find anywhere within an hour drive where we could get our tires checked. We decided to find something to avoid the worry of not knowing if the tire is bad or how to fix it. Turned out we just needed to put air in it, so this mobile unit seemed perfect. Small, fits in the back without taking a lot of space, but comes with a long cord so you don't need additional accessories. The unit arrived quickly and testing it was a breeze. Well, it takes a while (that's a very optimistic way of putting it) to setup and inflate the tires. For our SUV it was about 20 minutes from start to finish - setting it up, 4 tires getting about 4PSI added to them, and packing it up again. It's not fast - but that's not why you want this. You can now check your tires regardless of how far there is to the next gas station (hoping they have compressed air). The unit is light and very easy to operate. But because it's small and has long wires, it's a bit of a challenge to get the wires tucked in so it fits in the bag. You have to screw in hose into the tire - that did take me a few minutes the first time to figure out. Once inserted, the pump will start measuring the current pressure. Now, this will take a while - it went up from about 25PSI to 28PSI before it stopped at one time - that's before you start pumping air. Then all you have to do is turn it on and it starts pumping while you wait. It pumps VERY slowly as the PSI increases. But it gets there. The unit has a memory - you can set how much pressure to put in the tire. I haven't seen the unit STOP when it reaches the number, but it does stop increasing the pressure according to the display. Once you're done with a tire, you turn the unit off (the light will stay on all the time it's hooked up), unscrew the hose from the tire and move to the next tire, rinse and repeat. We have a small Prius and a SUV - in both cases the electric rod is not long enough to reach around the car - meaning as you move from the driver side to the passenger side you have to drag the unit through the car - not over/above. But for both vehicles doing so gives you plenty of cable to reach each tire without any obstructions. The hookup seems far enough for most cars even though you have to go through the car to get to the passenger side. It's a great road-side pump - good for long travels. Note - the unit does get warm - close to hot - after being used for 15 minutes inflating 4 tires (yes it's slow!). But it has a good handle so you don't have to touch the metal side. ... show more

  • Very good, but be aware of something
Color: Blue
I already had a similar product by a manufacturer named Fortem. I bought this EP-Auto product for my son. If you like this design by EP-Auto, great. I prefer the square physical characteristic of the Fortem --- just makes it easier to store in the car. But either is fine, because they are both small. The main difference to me, is the connector that attaches the inflation hose to the valve on the tire. The designs are very different, and I definitely prefer one over the other. The type on the Fortem is just easier, where you just push in onto the valve and lock it in with the little lever. The type on this AP-Auto is the type that you screw on, which is slower, and a little more awkward. I just used the AP-Auto, and it was freezing outside. I had to take off my gloves to properly grip the little twiste valve, and it was still a little awkward putting on, and removing. The type on the Fortem would have allowed me to keep my gloves on, and even then done it quicker, more easily, and with a much more consistent and predictable air loss upon removal from the valve. I'm not saying the Fortem is better than the AP-Auto as a whole. I'm just saying that the way they attach to the valve on the tire is different, so be aware of that difference as you pick a similar unit. Overall the AP-Auto seems great. It sounds more quite and better quality, inflates a little faster, and less harsh/rattly than the Fortem. It actually feels and sounds like a better pump. But I do not like the hose connector. If I buy any others in the future, I will chose one with the connector type similar to the one on the Fortem. Be aware of that difference when chosing. If you like this design on this AP-Auto AND you prefer the valve connector that is comes with, then I would have no reservations recommending it. ... show more
