I love this product for my gaming needs when I need to calculate life totals, or just do simple math. The only issue is that the screen sometimes doesn't either write or erase. It wasn't the battery either, as I just took it out of the box and it gave me issues. I'll probably be buying the scientific one for school. ... show more

So I didn’t get to use this as much as I would have liked because my 9 year old daughter promptly took ownership of it. We went over all the features and I can tell you that she is in love. It’s a basic calculator so that functions as you would expect. The notes area is an LCD display and works well. I have never had one of these actually have a Lock Screen button. I think that is really a plus especially if you are working through a longer equation and taking notes. The case is lightweight and won’t take up much more room than a regular, similarly sized calculator in a bag. The only con I feel is the plastic clip that holds in the stylus. That will definitely break eventually. However my daughter has put this through the wringer and so far so good here. I was actually impressed with this thing and could see getting the more advanced version for my high school aged son. ... show more

I only wish that these existed when I was in school. My toddler has a toy on this same design but it immediately made me wonder how this wasn't something adults are using all the time. This is basically a 'digital' whiteboard though it really feels more analog. You can draw on the surface like those really old magnet draw boards from my generation, though this works on pressure rather than magnets. Hitting the button flashes the screen and erases everything. You don't NEED the stylus but it is nice to have sometimes and the little holder for it is a good design even if the stylus is a bit thin. I usually go for a retractable pen with the nib retracted when making quick notes and that seems to work alright. The two things I end up using most on my desktop are little note paper scraps and my phone as a calculator. This basically replaces that and lets me clear up the clutter from endless note scraps. Most notes I take are limited to a few minutes or less of usefulness so physical paper is a bit wasteful but what was available. Digital notes would require opening programs or apps and end up using too much time or resources. The screen on this is just right for jotting down napkin math or a figure that you need to input somewhere else. I know the calculator has memory functions but I am an old dog and those are new tricks. This lets me write the numbers as I go the old way and get things figured out. ... show more

If you're looking for a calculator that can calculate extended problems this is not it. It can only do one function at a time. Build quality is extremely flimsy, pen and writing screen feel like it could snap/break at any moment while writing. I tutor home-school student in math and was looking for a calculator to recommend to the early graders. This seemed to be ideal since the electronic writing would allow them to work the problem on the pad then check the answer with the calculator for instant feedback. The calculator is great, however the writing pad was defective: low contrast and would not erase.
