I was a bit reticent to order an instrument without playing it first. But the reviews are all positive and amazons return process is easy, and in this case it will not be necessary. This uke is a keeper. I wanted a travel uke as I have been traveling with a $1500 handmade Koa wood uke that I love, but always worried about. I have had the enya for a few days and it is the only one I have played since it arrived. Feels great, looks great, sounds great, best bang for your ukulele buck. This is the third Enya Nova Ukulele that I have purchased through Amazon. This is my favourite Uke in my collection. It has a fantastic tone for a travel ukulele and for a ukulele overall. I only have two "negative" remarks and they are the reason I had to give this a 4/5 star rating. 1. This is a carbon fiber uke. It's synthetic; not wood. This material will not age the way wood does, so as a result the tone will always stay the same, which isn't bad, but it will never get richer and fuller like it would with wood that ages over time. 2. The onboard amplifier and effects are so subtle and light. If you plug it into an amp it sounds great because you can adjust the volume and settings on the amp, but the onboard stuff is hardly noticeable. In fact I think all of the extra hardware internally affects the tone when it's unplugged and is a bit heavier in the instruments weight as opposed to the acoustic version of this instrument. Seeing as how I have the same ukulele without the Acoustic Plus system I can tell the variance in sound. It's slight, but I can tell. The Enya Nova Ukulele w/o the Acoustic Plus system is better and projects more. However, that being said, this is a great use and I highly recommend it. ... show more

I bought a cheap uke to start and quickly moved up to this one. Don’t waste time on a cheap uke cuz there is a big difference if you want to continue playing and liking the instrument. This model does not fail. Love the color choices and the performance of the uke. I will be getting a better case for it as this one doesn’t offer much protection. That was the only downside. I had points coming so I got a really good deal on it so I realize it might be more than one wants to spend on their first uke but this one will last and is not affect by temperature change. ... show more

The ukulele is amazing!!! It is loud enough to enrich the songs I am playing without an amplifier. It also sounds fantastic with my Fishman loud box. I think I am going to enjoy having that boost of the internal amp when I sit in the garden and play or alone in my truck at the beach the sound is so rich.. My ukulele came with everything I needed and was in perfect condition. The brochure is a little vague. I thought the red light on the bottom would go off or turn green when it was charged but you have to push the "on" button and it will show green when charged. That was not in the brochure but I asked on my ukulele Facebook group and got the answer I needed. I have two Enya Nova U ukuleles one regular and now the electric......I am happy I got both of them....I have restrung them one with the high g and one with low G.....These will both be my perfect traveling partners and are a gift from my dear husband.....Im heading out with my best friend down old route 66... ... show more

One of the reasons why I bought it red was because all the accessories would be red and it came with a black case, white strap and capo. I was disappointed, the instrument is beautiful and the sound is good for learning. but do not get carried away by the photo because it is not what will arrive, super misleading😤 ... show more
